Relay x Superbridge

Relay routes are now live on Superbridge!

With Relay, it’s never been easier to jump between Superchain networks than right now, with more of the 80+ chains Relay supports coming to a place near you soon.

Why Relay?

Built by Reservoir, Relay is one of the leading intent based bridging protocols.

As the name suggests, Relay is powered by Relayers. Relayers hold assets on each of the 100+ networks supported, enabling faster-than-finality (often < 10s), low cost and secure bridging.

For us at Superbridge, security, longevity and utility are top of mind when choosing choosing a new bridging partner, and Relay has these in spades. As we roll out the Superbridge experience to more chains you know and love (Solana anyone?), Relay will be there providing the best routes as we go.

More routes are great, but what does this specifically unlock for Superbridge? Let’s take an example of bridging from Base to BOB, previously you had to bridge to Ethereum (taking 7 days and two transactions if going via the native bridge), then manually initiate a bridge to BOB, painful!

With Relay, you can now jump straight to BOB, no questions asked.

That’s less clicks for those of you paying attention 🔍

What’s next?

As if fast bridging wasn’t enough, our Relay integration sets the stage for so much more.

Relay recently announced Vaults. Not only a way to earn yield, assets deposited into Vaults are actively used for liquidity management, enabling bigger trades and expanding the number of chains Relay can offer routes to.

With Superbridge we work with a ton of rollups, but depending on the configuration exiting from a rollup can take in the vicinity of 7 days. With Relay Vaults, fast withdrawals are going to become the norm.

We can fast see a world where the native bridge remains a great option for onboarding into rollups, it takes a couple of minutes and there’s no hidden fees, but Relay fast withdrawals enable also exiting in the same timeframe. Plus solvers don’t need to hold liquidity on 80+ different chains, only ones that act as settlement like Ethereum and Base.
