Lil Nouns DAO
Lil Nouns DAO is a Nounish subdao of 1 Lil Noun, every 15 minutes, forever!
Lil Nouns were made to be “Lil” versions of Nouns, with an emphasis on:

Proliferating the Nounish meme
Since its inception, Lil Nouns DAO has accumulated nearly 2000 ETH from Lil Nouns auctions, making it the most successful subdao by ETH raised.
Origins & History
Lil Nouns was co-founded by 4 Nounish individuals:

Originally, the only difference between Lil Nouns and Nouns was the pixel art, “Lil” Nouns are essentially a smaller rendered version of Nouns.
However, Lil Nouns now as we know it has another differentiator - cadence. When asked about this, here’s what Lil Dot said:
*Lil Nouns started off as a daily mint project (1 Lil noun of Noun everyday forever). During development, we realized that there was an untapped appetite for a Nounish subDAO that exposes its members to the governance/treasury layer nouns used to proliferate their meme.

Lil Nouns was initially an “art-focused” project, but over time the Lil Nounders worked towards building Lil Nouns into a sub-DAO.
Notable Achievements
To date, the DAO has minted over 6000 Lil Nouns, amassing nearly 2000 ETH in auction sales.
Over 70 proposals have been executed on-chain, funding ideas ranging from water purification kits to VVS Diamond Noggle chains.
I especially like Lil Sisters, which is a sub-community for women and non-binary builders. It’s impressive how smaller but more targeted communities can be formed within a sub-DAO!
Lil Nouns DAO also owns 10 Nouns (and counting!), the highest number of Nouns held by a sub-dao.
Truly, Lil Nouns has had fantastic results.
What Are Lil Nouns Working Towards?
With its 15-minute cadence, and sharing a strong brand connection to Nouns, Lil Nouns is one of the fastest-growing sub-DAOs within the Nouniverse.
In stark contrast, Nouns with their 1 Noun per day cadence and much higher price point (30+ ETH) tend to bring in fewer people into the DAO per se.
Hence, Lil Nouns has to develop a solution suited to its own needs, something to help the community deal with the erratic idea flow.
Prop Lot
Prop Lot is a novel idea that Lil Nouns DAO is working on.
It is an idea board with simplified descriptions, “Upvote” and “Downvote” buttons, as well as commenting add-ons.
Pods
There are various avenues to get funded in Lil Nouns DAO. The DAO is pivoting towards “pods”, which are created for more niched funding.
For example, we have Data Pod as well as Content Pod, where data analysts and content creators are directed for funding.

It’s difficult to name everything Lil Nouns is working toward, the list is truly endless.
Personally, I know of Lil Nouns’ onboarding efforts ongoing at the moment.
Here’s an interesting take:
The great thing about solving these problems (outside of actually solving them) is that any solution we create can be directly ported to Nouns DAO. You could see Lil Nouns as a Nouns forecaster. Our cadence makes it so we meet problems Nouns DAO will face 5 years in advance.

The Uniqueness of Lil Nouns DAO
There are 2 features of Lil Nouns that make it stand out from other sub-DAOs.
- A community-led Sub-DAO
With Nouns DAO’s anniversary just a month ago, most Nounish sub-DAOs are relatively young. Governance-wise, we should expect a more founder-led approach, as we see with most other sub-DAOs.
However, Lil Nouns is a unique sub-DAO with community-led activities and governance, for real! While the Lil Nounders pop up in Discord once in a while, life goes on without them. (Not saying this in a bad way haha)
I’m still marveled at how the Lil Nouns community “runs itself”, which is the first step to truly decentralized governance.
- High-caliber Builders + Bringing over the Nounish vibe
In a way, Lil Nouns was able to attract many builders from Nouns to Lil Nouns. So these builders helped carry over the Nounish meme and continue proliferation efforts throughout the DAO.
Meanwhile, the high cadence and more affordable prices of Lil Nouns have attracted talent in the NFT and web3 space, bringing skilled builders to Lil Nouns every day.
Coupled with the substantially high treasury, funding large-scale projects is possible at Lil Nouns, perhaps one of the few Nounish sub-DAOs able to do this.
