Title: 1993: My First Video Part

1993 was such a fun time. I was just skating with my friends, pushing myself, and figuring out skateboarding. This video part was all about that. We had no big production—just pure fun. I wanted to skate everything I could. After skating all day, we’d edit the footage with two VCRs side by side. I even drew my name, Bob, on this old-school title computer thing we had back then.

Back then, in Brazil, I only went by Bob. But when I got to the U.S., I quickly realized Bob was everyone! (Hahaha!) So, I added Burnquist. It felt right because my grandfather used Bob Burnquist when he competed in rodeos, and I wanted to honor him by carrying on that name.

Looking back, I had no idea how incredible and fun my skateboarding journey would be. Watching this now, I can’t help but smile at how it all started. The mix of street and vert, experimenting with switch—it’s amazing to see the roots of what would later define so much of my skateboarding life.
