Welcome to the "Optimistically Bored" NFT Art Contest!

As a celebration of the convergence of Bored Town NFT and the Optimism blockchain, this contest invites artists from all around the globe to participate in this unique opportunity. We aim to infuse Optimism with more original art and invite new artists and collectors into our vibrant community.

This contest is about more than just showcasing your talents—it's about participating in a movement that celebrates creativity and originality in the NFT art world. We strongly believe in the transformative power of art. We are committed to promoting a diverse range of voices and perspectives. We can't wait to witness the incredible works of art you'll create!

Please read the following rules and guidelines carefully before submitting your artwork. If you have any questions or need clarification on any point, feel free to reach out to us on our Discord. Good luck to all participants!

Eligibility:

The contest is open to participants worldwide, aged 18 years and older. To qualify, participants must also have an active Twitter account with at least 200 followers and a cryptocurrency wallet.

Submission Guidelines:

a. Each participant may submit only one piece of artwork.

b. Art must contain a version of a Bored Town character found in the Bored Town NFT collection and the Optimism logo that can be downloaded here.

c. The artwork should be unminted. The size must be a minimum of 2000 x 2000 pixels, and the format must be square. Acceptable formats are .jpeg, .png, and .gif

d. Artwork must be original and created solely by the participant. No copyright infringements or plagiarized content will be accepted.

e. Artwork should not contain any offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate material. It should adhere to community guidelines and standards.

f. AI art is acceptable, but it must pass a quality check.

g. To submit their entry, participants must submit on Bored Town x Optimism Art Contest quest, then tweet the image of their artwork.

h. Submissions end May 31st, 2023 at 5pm UTC.

Submission Verification:

a. All submissions will be reviewed for compliance with the contest rules and guidelines.

b. The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entry that violates the rules or is suspected of cheating.

c. Organizers may require proof of originality and authorship, such as work-in-progress images or sketches, to verify submissions.

Judging Criteria:

a. Entries will be judged based on originality, creativity, and artistic merit.

b. The adjudication process will be carried out through a popular vote. This voting will be performed by a diverse group of selected individuals who have been granted voting rights via Soulbound tokens and snapshot.org.

Voting Mechanism:

a. To prevent vote manipulation, only votes from genuine and active Twitter accounts with whitelist voting access will be considered.

b. The contest organizers will monitor voting activity and reserve the right to disqualify votes from suspicious accounts or those suspected of engaging in vote-buying schemes. To ensure the fairness and integrity of the contest, any participant suspected of using fraudulent methods to enter or influence the contest will be disqualified. This includes but is not limited to vote manipulation and collusion.

Prizes and Awards:

a. By participating in this contest, all participants agree to the terms and conditions. These include the usage of their artwork for promotional purposes, inclusion in our NFT collection, and the understanding of potential tax implications associated with any prizes.

b. While the top 100 artworks will be recognized and awarded for their outstanding quality and creativity, the inclusion in the "Optimistically Bored" NFT collection launched on the Optimism blockchain will be subject to a curation process. This ensures that the collection maintains a cohesive aesthetic and quality standard. Regardless of their inclusion in the NFT collection, all top 100 artists will receive their respective prizes as an acknowledgment of their talent and effort. Please note that artists will not receive royalties from this collection; all proceeds will be donated to Optimism's Public Goods Fund.

c. Artists who rank in the top 25 must submit an additional, original (1/1), and unminted art piece to be included in the collection to claim their prize. This piece should reflect their original style and serve to further promote their work.

Prize:

All qualified participants will receive a whitelist to mint the "Optimistically Bored" NFT collection.

In the first round, up to 200 participants who pass will receive 10 OP each

The top 100 will receive 25 OP each

The top 50 will receive 50 OP each

The top 25 will receive 100 OP each

The top 10 will receive 150 OP each

3rd place will receive 500 OP

2nd place will receive 800 OP

1st place will receive 1,000 OP

Voting Timeline:

• Announcement of participants who pass the first round selection: June 7th, 2023

• Commencement of voting: June 10th, 2023

• Announcement of Top 100 winners: June 17th, 2023

• Successive rounds of voting to determine the final rewards

• Final round announcement: No later than July 31st, 2023

Transparency and Communication:

a. Contest organizers will maintain open communication with participants and provide regular updates on contest progress.

b. Any contest rules or timeline changes will be communicated promptly and clearly to all participants.

Change of Rules:

The contest organizers reserve the right to modify the rules and regulations of the "Optimistically Bored" NFT Art Contest at any time without prior notice. This includes, but is not limited to, changes due to technical constraints, legal or regulatory requirements, or to ensure the fair and equitable operation of the contest. Any significant changes will be communicated promptly to all participants. We recommend participants to regularly review the rules and guidelines for any updates.

Personal information collected from participants will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
