My name is Brileigh. I like photos, crypto, and techno.

I fell down the rabbit hole of web3 around July 2020 and haven’t looked back. Nothing has ever hit me like web3. Its fast-paced, always changing energy has charmed me: it makes me believe that a better future is possible. We can build a decentralized internet centred around community and not controlled by corporations. A place where we own the content that we create and are not subject to the limitations of algorithms and ad-based revenue models. An opportunity for us to escape the intermediaries of TradFi and build our own wealth, on our own terms.

When I’m not learning about web3, I make photo documentary work that explores architecture and urbanism with a poetic sensibility. In past projects, I’ve documented urban graveyards to illustrate the tensions in public space and consider what is valued in the built environment. I’m currently working on a study of the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto and its crumbling yet utopian vision for the future of the city. I’m also thinking about Montreal’s underground city, obsolescence and analog photography’s slow death, and emerging technologies.

My time—our time—is very limited so I hope to share with you some thoughts, ideas, and stories that are worthwhile.
