This writing aims to introduce what Bu Zhi DAO is, how it came about, what we have planned for in the future and how you can get involved!
What is Bu Zhi DAO?
Our official mission statement is “Bu Zhi DAO is a collective of builders, creators and investors passionate about advancing Taiwan’s web3 ecosystem and culture“
In more detail, BZD is a Taiwan focused DAO aimed to connect people in the web3 space who have a connection to or are passionate about Taiwan’s web3 ecosystem and culture. We want to build a fun and welcoming community that encourages genuine IRL connection, collaboration, helping each other, and having a blast along the way.
The name “BuZhiDAO” is a pun in mandarin, meaning “I don’t know”. We also want to help educate and promote web3 by creating public resources and content to help people learn more about web3, bridge different communities in web2 and web3, and share Taiwanese culture in the metaverse.

How it came about..
Like many DAOs, we started off as a group chat with frens from ETH Denver in February. After ETH Denver, we realized the powerful connection of builders and genuine people in web3 that we wanted to take this idea to its full fruition. The mission statement went through tens of iterations to get to where we are, not because we didn’t know what we wanted to do, but there was too much we wanted to do that it was so hard to encapsulate it well in a few sentences.
The group chat grew and grew from 4 people to close to 200, designed a logo, had meet ups in major cities in the US - NY / LA / Taiwan / SF and various conferences including Permission-less, Consensus, and NFT NYC.
What are we building?
We defined our roadmap, made a pitch deck and fund raised 40 ETH for our $IDK tokens initial offering back in May.
Since then, members have been working hard to continue to build and expand our community and fulfill the roadmap and beyond.
