Hello stranger, welcome 🖤
My name is Candan. I’m an artist, although I never thought I could call myself one when growing up.
Grew up with an artist mom with lots of paintings around the house. Always thought I could do the same some day. Life got to me, and I have become a teacher instead who creates art as a passion.
For a long time, I have been illustrating doodles in my own time, I actually loved drawing my doodles. My works have been on local exhibitions and one of my works is selected to be on #NFTNYC2023.
As my works are appreciated by many, I wanted to do more.
I don’t know if any other artists have the same feeling as I did, but I constantly thought about how to improve my art. Because I have many other interests, I tried to combine different techniques in my line of work instead of staying in one place.
I have always been fascinated by “life”, nature, people, light and shadows to be exact. I’m in love with minimalism, materials, buildings, trees, mountains… I had to create some works that represents my passion towards these things. I began to work with vectors and created some pieces involving my doodles at the same time.
As I continued to develop my technique in this style, I noticed that involving doodles in every piece I create would take away the feeling I try to transfer across. So I forgave myself for not including my doodles and now focused on the overall feeling of the piece.
I try to create a brief moment of “feeling” with my works. I dream of a viewer who looks at my works and have waves of emotions running through their minds. Just by looking at these simple shapes, one would think about being in that special moment and connect deep with the piece momentarily.
