Yesterday, we announced the brief plans for the Carbonstarter token (ARBS) airdrop. To our pleasant surprise, we have received tremendous interest and support from both our current community and the wider web3 community around the world. Based on this interest, we felt that it is our duty to write a concise, clear article to provide further detail on the Carbonstarter airdrop, how it will be conducted, and offer concrete steps that our community can take to secure their share of the airdrop.

Total Airdrop Amount

The current minimum token airdrop amount is 4,000,000 ARBS tokens. The reason for the “minimum” is due to our unique tokenomics that also sets aside an additional 10,000,000 ARBS tokens for the early contributors. The early contributor's allocation is reserved for those who provide expertise and services to establish and further expand the Carbonstarter vision. The larger public is eligible to claim up to 4,000,000 ARBS tokens as part of an open airdrop program.

How Airdrop is Conducted

The airdrop method relies on points. Those interested in receiving airdrops are expected to participate in tasks and quests to receive points. At snapshot, all individuals’ points are collected and divided by the total points collected in order to determine the individual’s percentage share.

For example, if Member A has collected 5,500 points and the total points collected by all the members is 5,000,000 points, then Member A’s percentage share is the following:

5,500/5,000,000 = 0.0011 or 0.11%

The percentage serves as the baseline from which Member A could potentially receive even more tokens as airdrop, or receive less. This is determined by advanced AI tooling that utilizes a predictive algorithm.

For example, Member A has 0.0011 before AI processing. Upon processing, the AI has determined that Member A has a long history of participating in Web3. The AI assigns Member A the maximum score of 2.0 which works as a multiplier.

Then, Member A’s point share is:

0.0011 x 2.0 = 0.0022 or 0.22%

Finally, Member A would receive 0.22% of the 4,000,000 ARBS airdrop, resulting in 8,800 ARBS.

Eligibility Criteria

Everyone is eligible to participate in the Carbonstarter airdrop. You do not need to be on the list of Arbitrum airdrop or other lists. This approach ensures that our airdrop values everyone equally - whether they are established within the Arbitrum ecosystem or they are new.

However, in order to be eligible for the Carbonstarter airdrop, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Follow Carbonstarter on Twitter

2. Joined Carbonstarter’s Telegram community

3. Joined Carbonstarter’s Discord community

4. Subscribed to Carbonstarter’s Telegram announcement channel

5. Subscribed to Carbonstarter’s Mirror publication

6. Participate with a compatible wallet with on-chain history (no throwaway wallets)

7. Be in possession of the Carbonstarter Airdrop Pass NFT

Those who meet the 7 eligibility criteria are entitled to guaranteed airdrop, albeit the minimum amount, as the individual amount is determined through peer-to-peer competition.

How the AI Algorithm Works

Due to non-disclosure agreements, we cannot fully reveal how the AI algorithm functions. However, we can provide some tips on what the AI algorithm values as good behavior when conducting predictive analysis:

1. Consistent on-chain actions within the past 120 days

2. Value add-on actions such as:

   1. Staking

   2. Governance participation

   3. Liquidity providing

   4. On-chain messaging

   5. Trading

3. A reasonable amount of time between an action and a counter action (e.g. staking a token and immediately unstaking it will result in a downgrading of the score)

4. Consistent interaction with set smart contracts (e.g. interacting with a smart contract or dApp once will not count towards good behavior)

5. Involvement in the Arbitrum ecosystem

6. Must have not been flagged as a scam or fraud

The algorithm does not take into consideration the asset balance in order to ensure fairness.

Currently, the algorithm boasts an accuracy rate of 86%.
