10 Tips for Getting the Most out of the Cielo Web App + Bot
May 11th, 2023

Cielo is your gateway to everything that’s happening in web3: the hottest new mints, most scandalous hacks, bullish token unlocks, and whale-sized trades. It provides a social layer to onchain transactions, helping you make sense of what’s happening, where, and why.

If you’ve recently begun using the Cielo web app as part of our private beta, you’re likely still exploring the many features that come bundled with it. To accelerate your mastery of the Cielo web app and Telegram bot, here are ten tips you should know.

Tip 1: Track token swaps

The Cielo web app includes settings for controlling which wallets and tx appear in the accompanying bot. The Telegram bot gives you additional features that are not available within your Cielo feed. One of these is the ability to monitor swaps of a specific token. This makes it easy to follow whale trades for a token you’re interested in. You can also use it to see which influencers are aping into new tokens. Private beta users can track up to five tokens in this manner.

In the Cielo Wallet Tracker channel, enter the contract address for the token and set a minimum threshold (e.g. 10,000 will only show swaps above this USD price). You’ll now receive a Telegram alert anytime someone makes a DEX trade above the price point you’ve specified.

Tip 2: Filter transaction types

While we’re focusing on Cielo Wallet Tracker tips, another cool feature is the ability to set granular filters for the tx that are posted by your Telegram bot. From the Cielo dashboard, you can specify the blockchains, tx value (USD), and tx type.

Under Configure, select the “Edit all wallets” icon to pull up Advanced Settings then choose which transactions you want to see.

You can choose from 17 tx types and 15 chains too. For instance, to receive bot alerts for NFT trades only, deselect all tx types listed in the Alert filters menu with the exception of NFT Transfer, NFT Trade, and NFT Mint.

Note that these changes apply only to your Telegram bot(s) and will not affect the results that appear in your Cielo feed. To filter your feed, you’ll want to implement our next tip…

Tip 3: Filter your Cielo Feed

Your Cielo feed displays the latest transactions from the wallets you’re following. But it also allows you to narrow results to specific areas of interest. Use the dropdown tabs to click through to specific lists and the Tx Types & Chains and Filter tokens menus to get even more granular. You can also narrow your search to a specific token by entering its ticker into the Filter tokens window (e.g. GMX) and setting an optional minimum USD threshold.

To save you from having to enter these filters every time you check your feed, bookmark your favorite feed settings. Because Cielo creates a unique URL for each option you select (e.g. polygon + nft_trade), by bookmarking it you can retrieve these search settings in one click.

Tip 4: Batch import wallet addresses

Got a whole bunch of wallets to add? To save manually entering each one, just batch import them as a CSV. Place the wallet address or ENS in column one and an optional label in column two and Cielo will take care of the rest. You’ll find this option on the configure page. Click the blue Add wallets button and, from the resulting popup, select Import CSV.

Tip 5: Add an ENS Twitter List

You probably already know that Cielo lets you connect your Twitter and import all of the accounts you’re following that have an ENS in their name or bio. (Just click the Twitter Connect button at the top of the configure page.) Here’s a tip for maximizing the power of this feature. Create a second Twitter account that you use only for following ENS addresses. Add as many ENS-cited Twitter accounts as you like and then link it with your Cielo and import. Voila: one very valuable list of what crypto Twitter is buying.

Tip 6: Label your wallets

Don’t just rely on the name automatically assigned to a wallet address such as vitalik.eth for an ENS. Eventually, you’ll lose track of why you’re following specific wallets. Adding a label to an address allows you to recall why you added that wallet in the first place and what tx types you’re interested in monitoring. As your Cielo lists expand, you’ll be grateful for the time you invested in accurately labeling.

Tip 7: Follow NFT collections

If NFTs are your thing, you should really start following NFT collections. Doing so will allow you to see significant events in your Cielo Wallet Tracker bot such as rising floor price. Just click the Watch button to the right of any NFT collection that interests you. If you can’t find the collection you’re looking for, enter its smart contract address into the search bar at the top of the page.

Tip 8: Check the NFT leaderboard

The leaderboard tab for each NFT collection is crammed with useful information. Here’s the leaderboard for Sewer Pass for example. You can view PnL for top holders, average buy price, and even view traders who’ve sold all of their NFTs for that particular collection.

Tip 9: Follow dynamic lists

Manually identifying, importing, and labeling wallets before sorting them into themed lists takes time. To speed things up and populate your feed with interesting transactions, you can follow lists created by other users. This includes dynamic lists, which will auto-update any time their creator edits the list. Here are a couple of dynamic lists to get you started:

Note: Cielo will be launching a public list explorer in the near future. This will aggregate all of the dynamic lists created by Cielo users, making it easy to pick and choose lists you like and to share your own.

Tip 10: Join the Cielo community channel

Finally, don’t forget to join the Cielo community Telegram channel. It provides a place to share your onchain discoveries, compare lists, and find answers to common questions.

As early users of the Cielo web app, your feedback and suggestions are also valuable. Use the Cielo community channel to share your experiences and swap tips with fellow users.

Good luck and happy onchain hunting.
