‘Wheel of Internet’ by Reza Hasni

In collaboration with Lens curated by CRAFT and Crowdmuse for Gateway Miami at Art Basel

Wheel of Internet is a tongue-in-cheek rework from the Buddhist drawing of the Wheel of Life. Familiar social media iconography is integrated with visual references that allude to the evolution of the web in one single artwork. The new world of how we experience and perceive our values online collides with how we reflect on our existing online environments.

Crowdmuse is proud to announce its first art curated drop with artist Reza Hasni and Lens. This piece unites Lens’ innovative web3 social layer with Crowdmuse's commitment to empowering emerging creators and CRAFT’s decentralized creative studio for unique digital experiences.

As we navigate our individual journeys online, identity and how we manage our social interactions have become more paramount than ever. With the emergence of new social primitives like Lens, creators have full ownership over their data, identity and experiences with their fans. We have curated this drop with CRAFT, a creator DAO, to give a platform for emerging and independent artists to reach a new audience and bring visibility to their creation onchain with attribution and fair revenue splits.

Creators and collectors will be able to mint a digital collectible of the animated artwork and redeem a physical art print on the Crowdmuse marketplace. Reza Hasni’s custom artwork piece for Lens will be showcased at Gateway Miami, presented by nft now and FACTBLOCK during Art Basel Miami from the 6th to the 8th Dec 23. Attendees can view his work IRL and scan to learn more about the collaboration.

A second digital edition will be minted on the Lens app via hey.xyz using the CrowdmuseProduct contract to unlock distribution through new audiences and monetization for Reza Hasni as the artist. A cross-platform onchain experiment to bring new creators and use cases to the Lens ecosystem. Stay tuned for further announcements regarding exclusive mints on Lens.

About the collaborators

Reza Hasni (b. 1982, Singapore) is a visual artist deconstructing the oddities and dualities of our world, expressed as transcendent parallel realities. His illustration and moving image practice often feed into collaborations with architecture, installations, mixed reality experiences, music and fashion around Europe and Asia. Read as a contemporary reflection of our world and its unseen energies, his work is a built space for journeying, instead of an end of itself.

Lens is founded on web3 technologies that preserves user ownership over their digital identity, activities and relationship. With an open technology stack, anyone can create social front-ends or integrate Lens social capabilities into existing web3 applications. Launched in May 2022, Lens is in beta. To date, over 100 custom applications have been built on Lens, showcasing the flexibility of the protocol. Lens was developed by Avara, developers of the Aave Protocol, one of the most widely used decentralized finance markets in the world.

CRAFT is a decentralized creative studio with a community consisting of creators in art, fashion and film space. It has launched projects like the web3 female filmmaker DAO  xxxbag.art, 1of1 pieces by James Joyce and metaverse ready gaming assets by Lucii.

Crowdmuse is a protocol and marketplace for independent creators and brands to collaborate to create custom experiences for their community of collectors. Crowdmuse supports a network of creators across fashion, design, art and music to give tools to showcase their work with IP attribution and revenue splits on sales made shared amongst all product collaborators.
