Create a NextJS app faster

I’ve been playing around with tech stacks a lot lately, exploring use cases and building small projects. One stack has stood out to me for a lot of reasons and it all starts with create-t3-app. It’s as simple as “$npx create-t3-app” and you’re off to the races. The three t’s are tailwind, tprc, and tailwind, but create-t3-app is more than that. The template pulls together for you a NextJS app, and you can opt to include or leave out nextAuth, Prisma, tailwind, and or trpc. Lets get into what makes this all special.

Sometimes Things Move Fast

It’s been a few since my last entry, but in the mean time I’ve worked with freeflow.dev to help a few projects launch, developed a tricky smart contract for DefiSyndicate, and landed a salaried position with the FantOHM team. Yesterday I tendered my resignation with my former employer, a great company, but not as much flexibility as I want, and I am really excited to spend all day every day in solidity and react for a while.

What makes for a good freelancer web3 website? So, I’ve decided to work towards the goal of being a full time freelance web3 developer. With 17 years of full stack development experience, I’ve found myself doing small contracts, side projects, and collaborations for a while now. Yet, as with most full time corporate developers, my portfolio is sad, my website was built years ago, and is full of dust and cobwebs. Let’s look at the anatomy of a good freelancer website.

It’s been an interesting few weeks in the crypto world. I’ve been invited to contribute to a lot of projects, Time and Fort are both going through big changes and lots of drama. Markets are dramatically crashing down, and I’m still working steadily towards my dream of leaving my 9 - 5 and being financially secure enough to work < 20 hours per week.
