- on what is regeneration (the ReFi DAO Prague launch memorabilia)
A regenerative I SEE model is a conceptual framework that integrates the principles of individual happiness and authenticity, social connections, economic/energy systems, and ecological alignment towards a regenerative future. I commend everyone to try to integrate this model into their lives, on a personal, family, business, and community level, as a guarantee of true regenerative approach. Each letter in the acronym "I SEE" represents a key aspect of this model:
I - Individual. This component recognizes the importance of individual agency, self-expression, personal growth, happiness, and well-being. It emphasizes the value of authenticity, enabling individuals to discover and express their unique talents, passions, and values. The outcome is an empowered human being filled with empathy, with the ability to uniquely contribute to itself and its surroundings.
An example of this which can be followed are the IDGs or Inner Development Goals and empathy movement.
S - Society. The social aspect of the model focuses on creating decentralized, self-organizing communities or organizations that operate based on the principles of regenerativity. Emphasis is put on creation of beautiful relationships, good communication, self-management, wholeness, and evolutionary purpose. These organizations aim to foster collaboration, empowerment, and collective intelligence, enabling individuals to contribute meaningfully to society and at the same time express themselves fully through their personal art or work.
A great example of this are teal organizations or decentralized autonomous organizations.
E - Environment. The environmental or ecological component underscores the significance of aligning human activities and systems with the natural world. It advocates for ecological stewardship, conservation, and respect for the interconnectedness of all living beings. The aim is to create a harmonious and regenerative relationship between individuals and their environment, fostering a sense of unity and interconnectedness, where the inner nature of an individual and the outer nature of our biosphere becomes one.
A holistic environmental approach of this sort can be found in permaculture.
E - Economy. The economic dimension promotes regenerative practices and a shift away from traditional models focused solely on profit. It encourages the development of economic systems that prioritize sustainability, circularity, and the well-being of both people and the planet. The inclusion of a gift economy recognizes the importance of reciprocity, sharing, right giving and receiving and non-monetary energy exchanges as valuable forms of economic interaction.
The outcome is the fulfilment of true needs of everyone and finding the true value of our lives. This includes not just money, but also the universal currency, which is the life energy. The economy of our life energy on the immaterial level and money on the material level is a flow which intervenes and connects the above three dimensions of an individual, society and the environment we live in.
Examples include gift economy, doughnut or regenerative economy.
The regenerative I SEE model thus encompasses the holistic integration of individual authenticity, social organization, ecological alignment, and regenerative economy systems, with the goal of facilitating a sustainable and regenerative future of humanity and the planet, reaching the final component of regeneration which is U - unity of all there is. The model then becomes an “I SEE U” (I see unity) reality.
To conclude, regeneration comes with creation and innovation in line with the principles of nature, which includes biomimicry approaches and designs, building of supportive networks, sharing, and striving for personal happiness.
