Before heading into the cold weather season, I participated to a new round of funding for blockchain-based software projects on Gitcoin.
The Gitcoin Grants Round 15 ran from September 7-15, 2022. Close to $4.4M will be distributed to 1,495 grants for public goods.
Since 2017, Gitcoin.co runs a grants round every quarter. Historically, some cornerstone dApps, like Uniswap, 1inch and Snapshot, have been launched thanks to this kind of web3-native fundraising initiatives. You may read more from the official GR15 results announcement: https://go.gitcoin.co/blog/gr15-results.
My personal contribution 75 DAI (~75.75 EUR). An allocation of 5 DAI was granted to every one of the 15 projects founded. I sent out the funds on the Ethereum blockchain by interacting with the "Gitcoin: Bulk Checkout" smart contract (address: 0x7d655c57f71464b6f83811c55d84009cd9f5221c). The transaction was settled on September 22, 2022. Check out the transaction details on a block explorer: https://etherscan.io/tx/0xeb205229ebfe13709bd764d537973c89a7a5649d79d641892c17d65c5f45e5b4.
The 15 projects are: Chainlist, Mest, CoinsGuru, DevPill.me, ETH.LIMO, Esteroids, Wagmi, L2BEAT, NFTScan, Scaffold-ETH, Zero Knowledge Podcast, BrightID, TrueBlocks, Rotki and Ether.js. For the full disclosure of all grants, please visit my profile on Gitcoin:
I feel excited for the growing web3 ecosystem. Until recently, It was impossible for me to finance tech startups in the real world. The procedures and legal requirements do not reserve a seat at the table for immigrants, refugees and low-income individuals.
It's a lifetime opportunity to help launch these amazing crypto projects! We'll meet again at the next round of funding for decentralized finance applications. It's been an honor and a pleasure, as usual.
