In this edition, we’re excited to share the latest milestones in the Chippi Children’s Book project. We’ve received our Kickstarter funding, and new draft illustrations have been completed. The formatting process is also well underway. Before diving into the details, let’s revisit our previous articles and the roadmap that has guided us.

Roadmap

1. Finalize the Kickstarter campaign. ✅

2. Receive funds and determine the final count of books needed for Kickstarter shipments. ✅

3. Receive book samples from Pint Size Productions. ✅

4. Select the book size and quantity for production. ✅

5. Document the Chippi characters that need to be added to the book. 🟡

6. Request to include the DAO Punks logo as a shoutout! ✅

7. Perchy to draw a scene. ✅

8. Submit the first sample to Pint Size Productions to approve the file type, dimensions, and layout. ✅

9. Upon sample approval, Perchy will use the template to complete the remaining drawings. 🟡

10. Johne writes and Trewkat edits the cover page, acknowledgment page?, and back page. 🔴

11. Send payment to Pint Size Productions along with the production files. 🔴

12. Wait a couple of months. 🔴

13. Pick up the books via an epic road trip. 🔴

14. Meet with Perchy to have him sign the signed editions! 🔴

15. Get the “extras” that were included in the Kickstarter campaign. 🔴

16. Ship the books to the Chippi fam! 🔴

Updates since last week

In the roadmap above, you’ll notice some color codes. A red circle (🔴) indicates a task we haven’t started. A yellow circle (🟡) means we’ve begun but haven’t finished. A green checkmark (✅) shows a completed task.

• We’ve received the final payout from Kickstarter, totaling $4,599.13 after all fees. As outlined in our previous update, Chippi Children’s Book: Strategic Budgeting and Goldie Locks?- DAO Punks Cohort 5 #2 payments have been made to the editor (trewkat), the writer (johne), and the illustrator (perchy).

• The new illustrations have been sent to pintsize to test the formatting. Perchy has been in communication with the publisher and has confirmed that the files he is using are compatible, ensuring a smooth process for completing the remaining drawings.

• The team has already seen some of the drawings. And guess what? You will see one, too! Next week’s update will include a draft of one of the illustrations. Trewkat was thrilled, saying, “Oh perchy, how wonderful these are.” I wholeheartedly agree and am beyond excited for this to be released. You have no idea — the drafts are soooo good!

What is Next?

     Our next step is to continue spreading the word to ensure we have all shirt sizes, shoutouts, and the Chippi needed to be drawn into the book. During this time, Perchy will likely be working on his creative genius, and we’ll need to plan which layout we’ll use. Lastly, I’ll be creating a master Excel spreadsheet to make sure we reach out to everyone and keep everything on track regarding rewards. Stay tuned for next week, it is going to be a good one.
