We're now seeing the emergence of artists and platforms across web3 that are inverting legacy power structures in the art economy.

If you’ve been paying close attention to the music NFT space, entities such as catalog.works, sound.xyz, and Arpeggi Labs can be seen establishing building blocks for a world that is materializing before our very eyes. It’s time to start using these platforms to take back what was already ours to begin with. Communities are the new labels, listeners are the qualified investors.

What are HEDS?

HEDS are the first stage in what is to become hedsDAO, a fully decentralized audio-visual collective. Each HED may grant access to submit art to a private chat in which content creators can swap project files/collaborate freely. Once a month, hedsDAO will release and auction a collaborative mixtape, created and curated by the community, as its own NFT collection.

Earnings from the mixtape NFTs will then be distributed as such: 75% between the creators of the tape, and 25% to an already established multi-sig hedsDAO treasury. New forward-thinking artists can feature on minted works with talented greats, and already established web3 artists can support their own art from auction sales. This will preface custom contracts which may fund live events, exhibits across the globe, and IRL community outreach programs.

Crowdfund Perks

Contributors to this crowdfund, if requirements are met, will have first access to genesis pre-mint HEDS, dubbed GENHEDS. The GENHEDS illustrate the foundation of hedsDAO, may be used to submit art to the monthly tapes, and will be extremely rare in comparison to the public mint collection.

Partnerships

hedsDAO has established a relationship with catalog.works, the premiere NFT record store available today. They’ll help those selected through our DAO to mint their works directly to Catalog as individual artists. This way, the artist maintains complete control over their own IP.

Generative Process

We’ve developed an autonomous and serverless process. HEDs are rendered at random. The chances of duplication are equivalent to the chances that this sentence is your private key. HEDs can be of an assortment of colors, shapes and luminosities. We have only scratched the surface of this 3D, generative process.
