Today’s talk - architectural changes to the Clipper desighned to protect our retail traders' community; what happened over the past month; answers to AMA questions.
Best way to create an alignment between community and producs are shared values.
Knowledge, comradery and playfulness - are core community values for Clipper. We grow and share knowledge together, we are comrades in this journey together, and play is fun!
Our goal - is the best DEX for retail traders. Focus is important.
Bots make retail hard to get best prices. Bots are problem in general. And bots do adverse trades against Clipper LP. It creates losses which have to be compensated and compensation usually comes from retail traders. It’s net bad for retail traders. We test a new approach to limit bot activity in order to retail getting better prices. We move from blacklist model to whitelist model.
Now any address can perform trades unless in a blacklist. Old users will have no impact by new mechanism, while new users will have to whitelist via Discord. Why? Discord is good in filtering bots. It is a TEST feature and it is a trade-off.
Our community - is what we want to build, our community should do all the stuff instead of bots. And be in this together - comradery
Longship protocol - interconnection of Shipyard products and AdmiralDAO.
The answer is AdmiralDAO. We aim for free and fair markets. For this purpose we created the AdmiralDAO - LLC on Marshall Islands. AdmiralDAO is going to govern Clipper. AdmiralDAO governs product: now Clipper, later Longship, then other DEXes. There will be different Discord servers.
In short, AdmiralDAO now - Clipper community + Shipyard. Now you can show your ability to contribute and later may have an ability to govern the AdmiralDAO when it comes to this point.
FMM model - why we have limits on a best trade (under 10000$)
We want to filter larger flow and keep the smaller flow. For higher flows we need larger liquidity and larger volume. But if we can’t sustain volume LPs will get less fees and may be dissatisfied. Increase in fees will result in retail dissatisfaction.
Also this is why we now whitelisting addresses - trying to get rid of ‘toxic’ flow (adverse trades against LPs because of informational advantage).
Liquidity is super important
E.g. Uniswap - infinitite liquidity for infinite users
Clipper is built different - retail prioritized (even over LPs). To attract LP - we have good yield. In future it can be even better. We want to make yield more visible so people deposit more into the pool. To watch the current yields:

Clipepr can generate nice APR because of capped LP. If you want to deposit more than a retail (>10000$) please pay some 50% fees to the DAO to help build things for retail: win-win-win. You still get high yields and help AdmiralDAO.
What we’ve done this month
Discord verification goes through Discord, Clipper has no access to your e-mail.
We launched the Community Leadership Program. You can always get help from them. Because we need self-reliant community without much help from the internal team.
A month ago we did a Polygon Week - Community Takeover in order to change institutional liquidity with community funds. We made fun quests and rewarded participants. Attracted 100k+ liquidity.
