Whether you are a DeFi degen, an NFT connoisseur or a governance mastermind, DegenScore stands by the doers of web3, not the LARPers. Our mission is to enable you, crypto natives, to own and leverage your on-chain skills and reputation. We want to see a web3 where tangible, measurable, on-chain contributions drive your success and push your crypto journey forward. Forget your IRL cellulose credentials, your character starting-area assigned randomly at birth, or your meatspace traits: we’ll build the metaverse one transaction at the time, and it will be beautiful. With the DegenScore Beacon we are taking a step forward to make this a reality.

Today, crypto largely fails to highlight and reward users for their abilities: liquidity mining programs bleed tokens across aspiring long-term holders and mercenary dumpers, NFT allowlists enrich insiders and friends of friends, protocol governance undervalues competence and skills. There is a need for tools to understand addresses for what they are: users with a rich history and on-chain reputation, not random hex strings. As multiple teams push forward on this vision, we at DegenScore want to focus on one slice of your on-chain reputation: your on-chain skills and abilities, what make you a great user of web3 and what you can do with it.

Introducing the DegenScore Beacon 🖲

The DegenScore Beacon is an Ethereum soulbond token that highlights your on-chain skills & abilities across one or more wallets. Crypto users who wishes to own, aggregate and leverage their on-chain reputation can mint a Beacon to an address of their choice. The Beacon stores your DegenScore directly on-chain while the Beacon’s metadata stores your traits: if the DegenScore is a number that lets you understand at a glance how good of a web3 user you are, traits are specific bits of data that qualify your skills and abilities (“Top 1% Uniswap Trader”, “Early CryptoPunk minter”, “Active Compound Governor” and more).

By implementing the read methods of the ERC1155 interface, the Beacon is compatible with existing NFT platforms and the broader web3 space. The DegenScore team will build more experiences on top of the Beacon but anyone can use the Beacon as a permissionless API to understand & reward users’ on-chain reputation.

To recap

• The DegenScore Beacon is a non transferrable token storing your DegenScore on-chain and useful traits in the metadata.

• You can bundle one or more addresses together to increase your DegenScore and traits. Mint the Beacon to an address you feel comfortable associating with DegenScore (We ❤️ ENS) and be comfy knowing that your Beacon is dox-resistant as no data about your addresses is shared publicly.

• Only your on-chain data is considered, no meatspace or web2 info is used. The starting point is always the address and if you wish you start over, you can burn your Beacon and start again: we respect your right to be forgotten, to be forgiven, to start anew.

• The Beacon’s metadata updates daily while the on-chain stored data (currently only your DegenScore) requires a transaction to be updated. Similarly to how you’d buy the base game and skip on the expension packs, we expect users to update their Beacon on-chain only if they wish to and due to significant upgrades.

The Launch

The DegenScore Beacon will be launching soon ™️ (make sure to follow us on Twitter to know first!) with minting initially restricted to users with DegenScore above 700.

When the Beacon mint will be live, you will be able to check your DegenScore by starting the Beacon minting flow and bundling one or more of your addresses.

The initial community of Beacon holders will be top on-chain users across DeFi, NFT and on-chain governance, but we plan to expand the community of Beacon holders to include more and more on-chain natives!
