While we live in a culture of broken markets and ideologies, we are endeavoring to establish a WellBuilt culture. We challenge and defy the attributes of the broken systems in the world around us. In the face of perceived scarcity, we declare abundance. If the face of demands for certainty, we embrace mystery. While the world is asking “What does it pay?” we are prioritizing the question “Is it good?” In the face of the commodification and privatization of everything, we strive for the common good. While the world marginalizes the poor we prioritize and befriend our most vulnerable neighbors. We pursue individual well being through the well being of the whole and we imagine that the purpose of an enterprise can be communal. We aim at collective transformation. We hope to be a healing and transforming presence in our city. A WellBuilt culture that is determined to rehearse a different reality. To build a different kind of city, within our city. It is audacious, we know, but it is also quite simple: Be neighborly, be good, be kind, and be committed.
