For more than two months, while I was dealing with severe health issues that have taken a significant toll on both my physical and mental wellbeing, I was extensively producing and writing lyrics for a song that reflected my current situation. I intended to submit this song for the major “We Love The Art” competition in hopes that the potential victory would aid my medical recovery process.

However, due to the severity of my health conditions, I was unfortunately unable to fulfill the submission.

On January 19, 2024, I sent a letter of accommodation to the “We Love the Art” grant committee which explained the entire situation in detail and was intended to initiate a private and fruitful discussion. However, due to the limited timeframe for the judging process and since I have not received a response from the team, I have decided to follow up by sharing this letter publicly in order to showcase the health situations and my current requests for accommodation.

Disclosure

To clarify, this letter and the entirety of this article solely aims to address the situation that has occurred and is meant to kindly request for a form of understanding and accommodation. All of the information provided in this article and within the letter itself are not driven by any form of animosity or other negative sentiments towards Optimism, the “We Love The Art” committee or any other parties/matters related to the competition itself.

By sharing this letter openly and publicly, I believe that it would help in finding a solution for this situation that would benefit the respective needs and interests of both myself and the grant committee.

In addition, for the sake of transparency and clarity, this letter is showcased in its original state without any sort of edits or modifications except for the following:

1. Applying specific redactions in order to protect the privacy rights of myself and others who are mentioned in this letter.

2. Re-signing the letter after properly applying said redactions.

These redactions will be visually indicated by a black censor bar in order to ensure confidentiality. If the committee and/or its related parties have any questions or require any further clarification, I am more than willing to provide any additional information in order to assist in the assessment process.
