PFP NFT is a brand, and the ONLY long-term value it brings to its owners is its exclusiveness. The exclusiveness can be represented by membership, utility, Merch, or simply the floor price.
Among these all sorts of exclusiveness, the floor price is the best for PFP NFT, while the utility is the worst. It is either lying or wrong if a project tells you not to care about the floor price.
The fact that having a PFP with a high floor price itself is a brand. The higher the floor price, the more exclusive it becomes, reinforcing the branding effect.
Utility, on the contrary, is the worst form to present the exclusiveness of a PFP NFT. NFT with utilities means that people will have to use their PFP to get more value. It also means that people who do not use their PFP will receive less value.
This turns NFTs into tools, which is not good for PFP NFTs.
Among all utilities, the PVE game is the worst (actually, a lottery is the worst, but it is too obvious. Or it is not?).
Firstly, PVE games will NEVER be fun to play. It is because the PVE game has to be easy to play and repetitive for players to make money.
Secondly, those who do not play the game will benefit less than others. After all, being forced to play the tedious PVE game will not be a cool thing to do.
Some may argue that we can build a 3A game that is fun and rewarding to play. This statement is like, why can't we make math studying become a game that every child likes.
Plus the production budget of a typical 3A is estimated to be 70-100million USD as of 2020. If building a 3A game is in your ROADMAP, you better tell me how you can get your 100M first.
If you see a project saying that they are going to build a 3A game for their holders.
