"..your dinner is going to taste better than any meal you've ever eaten, and tomorrow will be the most beautiful day of your life" -Tyler Durden / Fight Club
Raymond is threatened to live his life to its fullest or die now by this gun pointed to his head. How can we, in our own lives, learn to point the metaphorical weapon to our own minds? Where does that spark of determination come from? In my case it came from hitting a complete bottom- and years and years and years of being a "seeker" combining.
Heres the thing though- confusing 'purpose' and 'passion' with 'pursuing your dreams'. Passion and Purpose CAN come from the normal routine. Being a Father, Cleaning the Church, Teaching Kids, Working with the Mentally Ill, being a house wife/husband. etc. Pursuing your dream of being there for your family ultimately giving you purpose and passion is different than Raymonds scenario.
Raymond worked at a shithole of a job and hated his existence (or so we are potrayed to believe) - no fullfillment - no purpose- no passion.
Could you work at a gas station to pay bills and in the other 10 hours of your day that you are not sleeping - pursue your dreams? ABSOLUTELY.
"Somebody has to sweep the floors" -Zen Buddhism Teaching
I personally find a lot of fullfillment in sweeping a floor for my job or family. I also find myself chasing my dreams when i draw for 2 hours at night.
Are you seeking passion, purpose, and fullfillment - understanding it can come from many areas of your life? Dont settle for less.
