What is Hedgehog Markets?

Hedgehog Markets is a decentralized platform that lets users create and participate in prediction markets on various topics, from cryptocurrency prices to sports events.

Users can buy and sell shares in the outcome of events, with payouts determined by the real-world results. The platform’s goal is to provide a fair and transparent way for people to hedge against risks and bet on their knowledge of future events.

There are two betting models that will initially launch on Eclipse.

1. Pooled Predictions: Users can deposit funds on whichever side they believe is the correct outcome. The odds become known when the deposit period ends, with the ratio of the deposits between each outcome reflecting the odds of an event occurring.

2. Player vs Player: Create your own market with your own odds, and wait for others to take the other side. This allows you to be the house while betting with as much size as you’d like as long as others take the opposite side of the bet.
