Guard - Your Web3 inheritance (in TestNet)🛡️
January 4th, 2023

In simple words😌

Guard is a security protocol that allows you to save or restore access to your wallet, access to access to it between friends / relatives. Does not require a seed phrase or wallet creation.

“What happens to my crypto if I die tomorrow?” 🤔🔥

If nobody has your password, all your crypto is lost. Preparing your inheritance in traditional finance is obvious, but are you preparing it for your crypto? Say hello to Guard, the first protocol for your web3 inheritance.

1️⃣ Okay… so, Guard makes my inheritance. What is the process?

Excellent question fren! There are 2 roles in this process: guardians and inheritors. · Your guardians will trigger the process if you die. · Your Inheritors are the people you want to send your cryptos to.

2️⃣ Sure, but I don’t know anybody into crypto that could have these roles

It can be your relatives, they don't need to be into crypto! Upon arriving on Guard, they'll need to connect with MagicWallet and continue with their email. Even your 70 y/o mother can be your guardian.

3️⃣ What? But how can she be my guardian if she doesn't have a wallet?

Guard doesn't require your guardians and inheritors to have a wallet thanks to MagicWallet or Torus, as it allows you to create a crypto wallet associated with your email.

4️⃣ Great, now, imagine I’ve set up my Guard, how do you know if I’m dead?

We don’t, however, your guardians should know it if they were close to you. One of your Guardians needs to declare your death, and the other Guardians need to approve it.

5️⃣ I understand, but what if they’re bad-intentioned and I’m not really dead?

We'll send you daily emails for 90 days to contest your death. If you haven't revoked it, we'll assume you’re dead and the smart contract will take your cryptos and divide them among your inheritors.

6️⃣ Wait, I don’t need to lock my crypto into a smart contract?

Nope, the smart contract will take your available approved tokens and transfer them to your inheritors. You can use your cryptos as before, you’re free to explore protocols and swap your tokens as much as you want.

7️⃣ So, at this step, the process is completed and my inheritors should have my inheritance in their wallet, right?

Your inheritors will receive an email informing them of the end of the process. They will have to go to Guard and claim their inheritance.

8️⃣ Awesome, but what if I lose my wallet?

Guard is also protection if you lose access to your wallet. Your guardians can declare that you have lost your wallet, they enter your new address and after 90 days, all your funds are transferred to your new address.

9️⃣ Okay so when I set up my Guard, I also set up the wallet loss recovery?

Exactly, you only need to do 1 process and it sets up your legacy AND your wallet loss. Whenever you lose your wallet and recover it, you'll need to set up a Guard with this new address.

🔥Guard is the pioneer of a great revolution in web3. Facing a problem that we have never encountered before and for which we already have the solution. Be pioneers too and use Guard in testnet, you will be remembered:
