Today we're excited to announce the criteria of our very first NFT airdrop for our dear testnet participants.

Before delving into the article:

• The NFTs will be distributed as an airdrop or minted as a free mint AFTER the appeal phase.

• The appeal phase will last for 2 weeks starting today and ending July 19 4pm UTC.

• After the appeal phase we will take one week to add or remove addresses to our final list leading to potential distribution in July 26.

Airdrop Overview

Testnet:

• On-chain interactions are the only way to obtain our NFTs, which will allow you to collect rewards during the airdrop distribution. There will be six different NFTs available for the testnet.

NFT Phases:

• Phase 1:

  • Tier 2: Minimum of 95 on-chain interactions. (26589 NFTs)

  • Tier 1: Minimum of 195 on-chain interactions. (7677 NFTs)

• Phase 2:

  • Both Tier 2 and Tier 1 with different criteria to be revealed at the end of Phase 2.

• Serial Tester NFT:

  • Available by burning your NFTs from Phases 1 and 2.

Phase 2 is the final testnet phase before the mainnet launch.

Community Engagement

We are currently redesigning our community structure by adding a new rank between cadet and brigadier. More updates on this will be coming soon.

The aim of this part of the airdrop is to reward active community members who contribute daily, enhancing the atmosphere and knowledge sharing. These members are crucial for onboarding new users to Elys and will participate to create a PPP environment rather than bringing Short term PVP.

Airdrop Threshold and Mechanism

Our focus has always been on valuing the end user—the one who participates, tests our application, and provides feedback. This helps us improve the product and identify issues, which is why we offer this incentive. Many projects often overlook the importance of such mechanisms and just create an incentivized testnet for marketing purpose.

We reward genuine users who participate daily. When creating our testnet, we kept the following principles in mind:

• Interactions should not take more than 2 minutes per day (currently about 1 minute).

• Points (XP) from referrals act as a multiplier but do not determine the airdrop; on-chain actions do. This ensures that even influencers must participate actively to gain advantages, promoting a sense of equality.

• As long as you have 50%+ referral bonus you get an extra NFT. For example : 50.1% with 501 referrals you have an extra NFT, 252% with 2520 referrals you have 3 extra NFTs.

Overall, if you spent 1 minute a day on our testnet for 1 month( that's half an hour in total), you’ll have a Tier 2 NFT. If you've done all your quests every day since the start, that's a total of 2 hours maximum and you’ll get a Tier 1 NFT.

Thresholds and Mechanisms:

• Tier 1: Requires 195 interactions, representing about two-thirds of the actions possible on the testnet since launch.

• Tier 2: Requires 95 interactions, representing about one-third of the actions possible on the testnet since launch.

• Referral Code: Adds 0.01% per referred user, ensuring no significant advantage for those with many referrals compared to those with none.

For example:

• 200 interactions and 1000 referrals = two Tier 1 NFTs.

• 200 interactions and 0 referrals = one Tier 1 NFT.

This system is fair, allowing everyone to compete on equal footing and truly rewarding participants.

Sybil Hunt

We are committed to preventing airdrop farming through multiple wallets. Our methodology for this first NFT airdrop includes:

Data Representation:

• Each entry includes a unique ID from Bonus Block

• Twitter and Discord accounts

• An Elys address

• Number of on-chain transactions (quests only)

• Number of referrals

• Ancestors_Ref (who gave the first referral and subsequent sub-referrals).

Identifying Ancestors:

• For instance, Paul Ref0 refers Pierre Ref1 and Jule Ref1, who then refers Jacques Ref2. This helps identify bot clusters. If a Ref0 has 200 interactions and all their Ref1 have similar interactions, it indicates potential bots.

• Clusters are also detected by high ancestor levels, e.g., Ref468.

For this airdrop, the threshold is Ref10. We assume that you all got your referrals through friends or influencers, not through a chain of referrals (e.g., Paul referring Jacques who refers Jean who refers Auguste who refers Jason, etc.).

Clusters type:

• Clusters with a Ref0 having 200 affiliated accounts with identical interactions.

• Clusters with referral loops (up to Ref468 in our data), indicating a referral tunnel system.

Social analysis:

• We checked Twitter and Discord connections. In clusters with multiple affiliated accounts, we found accounts like Michell20681872, BrandiTayl59315, Jeanett31301584, Nancy7353730978, often with no Twitter account or all retweeting the same projects simultaneously.

Conclusion:

• We applied a parameter for each methodology:

  • Ancestors_Ref greater than 10 = Sybil.

  • Accounts without linked Discord or Twitter = Sybil.

We compared each methodology, categorizing an account as Sybil if any Sybil indicators appeared, otherwise marking them as true users. The sorting was done both through the referral system (thanks to Bonus Block) and by linking Twitter and Discord accounts.

To ensure the quality of the algorithm, we also assembled all the referrals for each cluster virtually from the twitter and discord accounts to check the quality of our method.

Some Sybils might have slipped through, but they are a minority and they will be sorted out with our Phase 2.

To ensure fairness, we have also established a list of addresses categorized as Sybil you can find in the same sheet.

This list allows those mistakenly flagged by our algorithm to find out about it and to appeal within the next two weeks and prove they are not Sybils.
