Today marks exactly one month since The Contract between The Two. Where participants of We are all Going to Die (WAGDIE) have experienced three weeks of lore. From the burning of MAYC #20438, to the death of Mother Agora's devout, including Remo the Deceiver. To the more recent sacrifice of Beeple's Bullrun & Gremplin's Cryptoad. We've become the 18th, brought forth the Amalgam, & a Conclave with ~168K USDC Treasury.
Power has shifted from Mother Agora's Light to the Darkness of Chaos & Detriti. 296 Souls have been burnt, excluding those outside the collection. 11 different types of Tokens of Concord rewarded. 200 honoring sacrifice, 1 fool, and others for those who built, and contribute to this world. 30Ξ given to Women's Charities, 10Ξ rewarded to Guilds and other 2Ξ boons for select builders and Ether refunded to panic sellers during a brief Opensea delisting.

The Story Thus Far..
In three weeks period we’ve burned, and built. Players decided the fate of characters through twitter votes and snapshots. Participated in the direction and locations. Were threatened to make a choice and refused at the cost of a life (Yuler). And added our own story and events: 0xM3rl1n, Baldburner.eth, & Baldsavior. Little room left for doubt that participants choices and actions shape this story and world.
What We Know (for now)...
WAGDIE is set in a mysterious world that goes through "Cycles" of Death and Rebirth. The 17 are 1/1s in the collection, representing powerful beings from previous cycles. We've had one Council with Gregor thus far to learn what we could of them.
- She Who Smiles is the presumed oldest/has been around since the first cycle.
- Yorn & Yogg are devout followers of Mother Agora
- Luta, the Striver founded the Stalwart. Luta the Beacon is aligned with Stalwart & gave Gregor eternal memory.
- Artificial God was once a Polymath of the Church of Her. His technology keeps Gregor alive & members of the Church of Her use this tech. He guards The Wound.
- Piyu, the Godling found ancient power predating The Two. She feeds upon the blood of travelers. Is kept from materializing in our reality by Viridus, Keeper of the Void.
- Detriti, the Swamp Witch & The Crow of Detriti represent the Chaos of this world. The Crow is with the Darkblade Guild, the Swamp Witch allegiance remains unknown.
- The Nameless Charter is with the Concord of the Grand Jester.
- We know little of Zo, The World Bearer, Logun, the Shameful, Child of Her, Wormlord Kuul, Kilgore the Young, God Sucker Kilgor, & Yuria the Ancient.
There were 17 Cycles before our journey began. Participants called Lost Pilgrim and the 18th. This is the 18th Cycle, it is unknown how a Cycle ends. One could speculate it began in the Church of Her and ended with Detriti's creation of Amalgam, and the 18th. We have been to all locations on the map fragments we have, except The Wound.
However, this world is vast..
Game Mechanics Thus Far..
Participation in WAGDIE comes in many forms:
- Anyone (even non-token holders) may engage on Twitter and Twitter votes.
- Anyone (even non-token holders) may generate content for WAGDIE.
- Only those with WAGDIE & Token of Concords NFTs may engage in Snapshot.org votes.
- Flame of 21 is worth 3 votes, Her Ember is worth 2, and all other Tokens and WAGDIE NFTs are 1 vote each.
- Anyone with a WAGDIE NFT can define their character's lore, story, and affiliation. As it currently stands there are three types of Guilds with varying levels:
- Type C Guild have Token of Concord:
- Concord of Research (Field Note, Artificial Crystal, or Monarch)
- The Darkblade Guild (Crow's Talon)
- Type B Guild shared WAGDIE trait/Concord
- The Decrepits (Skeletons, the 17, or have burned a WAGDIE)
- Flame of 21, Her Ember, Her Ash first 200 Burned
- The Decrepits (Skeletons, the 17, or have burned a WAGDIE)
- Type A Guild least restrictive & less about traits/concord.
- Traveler's Guild: Stepping stone to great participation within the community.
- Wayfinder's Collective: Own a 'Wayfinders Map' by contributing to wagdie.org, participating in Newcomers Inn.
- Type C Guild have Token of Concord:
- Tokens of Concord
- Can be “seared into the flesh” (unknown how)
- Awarded through participation (from sacrifice to creation)
- Weighted for Snapshot voting, allowing for further gamification.
- With the Conclave being the most recently introduced mechanic, offering a forum for Discourse and Proposals.
Participation is not limited to the mechanics mentioned above. At the end of the day WAGDIE is a sandbox which has attracted many builders offering new tools and perspectives.
In conclusion, our choices have consequences and these choices are made through participation on twitter, blockchain, and other many other tools listed above. Each week we’ve seen at least one major event, progressing the story and further opening this world.
Soon we vote on our Final Question for Gregor. I imagine this will give new knowledge. But with more answers, we are bound to have more questions. This world is not shrinking, for now it only continues to grow.
