Race Stewards are an integral role within any motorsports organization. Generally speaking, their purpose is to ensure that the regulations are followed, and to make rulings when disputed within a race require review.
Similarly, Formula EVM will require this role to assist the FDE community in the rule-making process, and to interpret the rules alongside their fellow Stewards to formulate a ruling in the event that a team has been called into question. When it comes to the collaborative drafting of the Formula, the annually updated competition rule book, they hold the vital responsibility of collecting, distilling, and drafting community feedback and suggestions into Formula Improvement Proposals, or FIPs. Once reviewed for clarity and approved by the Race Director, Rext Racer, Stewards will be able to submit their FIPs for a vote in our SnapShot governance dashboard. It is then the Steward's job to reach out to and activate the FDE community to submit their votes in the allotted voting timeframe.
Being a Formula EVM Race Steward has its responsibilities but is not without its rewards. Race stewards who are active in the community and submit a minimum number of proposals during the submission periods will receive additional airdrops, rewards, and compensation from the FDE Treasury. The FDE may even vote to issue them a portion of the Grand-Prix Prize Pool for their services at the end of the season. So holding the honor of Race Steward, and fulfilling the role could result in returns far exceeding the cost of entry.
Race Steward are granted their role via a special NFT airdrop during the course of the FEVM Formation Fund.
These NFTs will be issued to the first 50 contributors to the Formation Fund who hold more than 50,000 $FEVM tokens. This balance must be held in the same wallet as the NFT to activate its utility.
These NFTs may also be traded on secondary markets or transferred to other users who did not participate in the Formation Fund. But they too must hold 50K $FEVM to take advantage of its benefits.
This exclusive collection will consist of only 50 NFTs, ever. There will never be more minted unless approved by FDE vote prior to future seasons. They will be minted and issued on the Polygon network as ERC721 tokens with special governance rights on our DAO management tools such as SnapShot, SuperDAO, and possibly others. Holders will also be granted a special role within our Discord community.
They are tradeable and resellable, with a 5% royalty going back to the FEVM Treasury. However, as mentioned above, to unlock their utility the owner must also hold at least 50k $FEVM in the same wallet.
Stay tuned for the reveal of the Race Steward NFT design in the weeks to come!
