Good Morning, Fuelet fam!

This Thursday, 8th of Feb, we presented our new exciting project: Fuel Name Service (FNS). Our mission is to help the adoption of Web3, by making crypto addresses human-readable and, therefore, easy-to-use and less confusing. Memorable domains also make it less likely for users to send crypto assets to the wrong or malicious address.

Apart from that, domains will help you to craft your unique Fuel Identity by choosing the name that will reflect your personality, be it taylorswift.fuel or degen.fuel. As you can see, in Web3, domains are equal to your Instagram nickname or name in social networks (sometimes, they even can include profile pictures!). Additionally, they also play the role of a valuable token that can be traded.

As you can see, Fuel Name service is a solution for a lot of issues: from seamless logins to combating fraud as well as a valuable investment and a self-expression tool.

How does it work?

Fuel Name Service will be a smart contract linking your domain to a Fuel address.

How will it work? Once you claim your domain, the special NFT token is minted. It will allow you to edit the address of that domain name. You can sell or trade that token — all your choice! We will also introduce subdomains so you can add more addresses on top of the existing ones.

What about the pricing and additional costs for the users? To claim the domain name, you will have to pay the gas fee on top of the price of the name itself, the latter is established based on the market state. Domain names will have to be prolonged or “updated” from time to time as you basically “rent” them via the smart contract.

Other services developed by the Fuelet Wallet team, such as Fuel Rank or Fuel Stat will also use Fuel Name domains. That way, you’ll be able to check your Fuel Rank via your Fuel Name as well as check the transactions on other domains.

But that’s not all! The service will also be supported by the Spark order book and Thunder NFT marketplace.

Fuel Network has already mentioned that mainnet is coming soon in one of their official tweets. We will launch as soon as the mainnet comes!
