We get asked regularly what our definition of a Future Scout is. We don’t believe its any one thing — its what all of us can envision it to be together. Over the years we’ve collected some descriptions of what a Future Scout is to our participants and our mentors for the program. Here are a few that we’ve compiled into a poem for all of you.
A Future Scout is…
a self-directed learner who blooms through learning, exploration and discovery.
an engaged citizen who values the differences and similarities between people and nations.
a person on a journey of learning, who engages in self-awareness and experimentation with life.
an open-hearted and open-minded person who values the connections society builds through mutual caring and respect.
a person eager to be agile and adaptable, who welcomes the unpredictability of life.
a confident, competent, resourceful and independent person who is confident in their ability to navigate uncertainty and the unknown.
a person full of energy and enthusiasm for learning.
Future Scouts are
our future leaders,
our greatest assets,
our children.
from, your Future Scout
