Why Things Need to Change

For nearly 50 years, hackers and other information security professionals have been working to find and fix vulnerabilities and other entry points for cyber criminals.

While information security has been getting more attention over the past 10 years, the resilience of organisations against cyber-attacks has not improved, but instead, it has become degraded and more chaotic.

• The number of vulnerabilities found in hardware and software increases every year.

• Criminals have become better organised and their targets are increasingly becoming victims of ransomware, theft of intellectual property and/or other cybercrime related activities. The financial damage is now estimated at billions of dollars annually.

• The importance of personal and intellectual privacy is growing exponentially, yet since many companies do not have sufficient information security systems and processes in place, privacy is not always guaranteed.

• Web3 presents a lot of opportunities, but unfortunately, we already notice abuse by opportunistic cyber criminals.

The main reasons for this degradation and insufficiency are:

1. There is too much noise. There are way too many information security problems to be solved by corporate organisations, also because they tend to focus more on shareholder value, resulting in inadequate information security solutions, insufficient collaboration and information not being disclosed to all parties affected. Organisations are forced to use a multitude of products without the assurance they are protected sufficiently.

2. Rewards, ownership, and governance are not distributed fairly. Hackers and open-source software developers are not fairly rewarded for their efforts, which forces them to have additional sources of income, which leads to reduced motivation, focus, and poorly maintained products.

3. Talent resources are not harnessed effectively. The information security industry proclaims a lack of talent available while a lot of talent is wasted. Not everybody is able to participate due to immigration laws, tax regulations, and geographical relocation liabilities. The result is a loss of brilliant ideas and productivity.

Who We Serve

G360DAO will serve three types of customers:

1. Hackers, developers and other experts that will use open source code for free

2. Software firms and integrators that will obtain a license for source code they embed in their own products and service offering

3. Clients who are capable to use G360DAO information security insights themselves

Hackers, developers and other experts

G360DAO information security insight applications can be used free of charge as long as the license criteria are met. However, we expect some hackers, developers, and other experts to obtain a paid license because they need a commercial license for their activities.

Software firms and integrators

IT services providers and managed services providers are already using tools to monitor client IT environments. Information security insight applications developed by G360DAO will be integrated by these organisations to allow them to have all relevant data in one application.

Guardian360 B.V., a Dutch leading information security software firm, will be the launching customer for G360DAO and will integrate information security insight applications in its Lighthouse platform. Guardian360 B.V. sells its Services via Distributors and Partners to Clients generating monthly recurring revenue streams in various countries. A portion of that monthly revenue will be used to purchase from G360DAO.

Clients who are capable to use G360DAO information security insights themselves

Clients who are capable to use G360DAO information security insights themselves Not every organisation outsources its IT-management. Therefore, G360DAO will create a webshop to allow these clients to obtain paid licenses.

How We Operate

G360DAO will offer a range of services with their own respective functions that will be shaped by internal processes. The workflow structure of G360DAO is illustrated as follows:

The DAO will have 2 primary processes and various secondary or support processes. The primary processes are:

1. Development of information security insights. This will be done in 2 ways: active, where information security insights will be developed by the community commissioned by G360DAO or reactive, where people can offer their self-developed information security insight application and present it to G360DAO in order to be included in the portfolio of solutions offered by G360DAO.

2. Maintenance, dev support and bounty hunting on existing software. Maintenance and support on existing information security insight applications will be partly incentivised through the long-term incentive system (see incentives). In other words, people who developed the original information security insight application will get a longer-term revenue share incentive, where in return it is expected that the information security insight application is maintained. Maintenance could also be performed by new developers, who will be rewarded for their contributions accordingly.

The primary processes will be performed by the dev circle.

The secondary processes or support task are various tasks like finance, legal, marketing, community management etc. Each of these tasks will predominately be performed by the specific and dedicated circle.
