Background

DeFi Land is a multi-chain agriculture-simulation game created to gamify Decentralized Finance (currently only available on Solana). Players will be able to start playing the game for free, grind their way up to the play-2-earn tier, compete with others, craft, trade and more.

DeFi Land gamifies decentralized finance by turning investment activities into games. While there are games that make use of the blockchain, DeFi Land is novel in that it takes DeFi as a whole and aggregates the various actions that can be taken on each DeFi platform and turns them into an interactive game that can be played. This enables all DeFi protocols to be accessed in a single location rather than having to visit each one individually. Furthermore, DeFi Land adds an incentivization layer on top, making participating through DeFi Land better than through each platform’s native UI.

DeFi Land is built by an experienced anonymous team who have been researching& exploring the Decentralized Finance industry. They have a background in multiple industries such as AR, VR, AI, gaming, Fintech and ERP. The team members have worked with the biggest companies such: NVIDIA, AWS, Magic Leap and have vast experience and computer science backgrounds, giving a strong edge to quickly deliver high quality products.

Mini-Game

DeFi Land currently has four games: “Memory Game”, “Farm Invaders”, “Shooting Gallery” and “Fishing”.

In Memory Game, you flip 2 cards at a time and try to flip matching cards by remembering their positions. The difficulty increases as you beat each level.

Farm Invaders is like Space Invaders, but instead crows have come to steal your crops!

In Shooting Gallery you could shoot wild ducks with a shortgun.

In fishing game, you will need to use keyboard to simulate fishing.

Seed Laboratory

The “Seed Laboratory” is where users can combine different crops (assets) to produce seeds (LP tokens). Currently, DeFi Land only supports Raydium’s LP tokens, but expect more integrations in the future!

Farm Board and Farms

Once you make some seeds, they can be planted in “Farms”. Once planted, the crops can be harvested or unplanted. You can check the ROI in “Farm Board”.

Harvesting corresponds to harvesting on Raydium, where the accumulated emissions are transferred to your wallet.

Market

The “Market” is where you can swap between assets (through Raydium).

DFL is the native token in our game that is used to govern DeFi Land as well as reward our players in-game, allow them to stake, compete, bet, and much more. DeFi Land will enable users to customize their land, buy skins, purchase NFTs from the marketplace, tip their friends and various other features that are coming in v2.

Guide to Play

1. Registration

Head to https://play.defiland.app/, register with your Solana wallet.

2. Find proper ROI token pair

Click “Farm board”, choose a proper ROI token pair. Remember that, the more the APR, the more risky the token pair. Be sure you know the token well before entering.

3. Produce seeds

Click “Seed Laboratory”, produce seeds (LP) based on your assets.

4. Farm

Click “Farm” and choose your seeds to plant.

Conclusion

In the opinion of DeFi Land, DeFi lacks mass adoption. Newcomers, especially retail users, are afraid of using it as it seems too complex to understand. There is a huge deficiency of information and user on-boarding processes. Then they create the product that would introduce newcomers to decentralized finance in an interactive, fun and easy-to-learn way. Therefore, DeFi Land is actually an finance product not a game. It’s totally different from those typical Play-to-Earn game like Axie Infinity. To play in DeFi Land, what you need to do is to combine token pair and deposit into AMM liquidity pool and earn yield like other typical DeFi projects.
