Wage is my Chippi and me, but Wage is my Web3 persona and my pfp if you see me around Discord. When I started in DAOs, I didn’t know much, and I didn’t know about anonymity, so while you might know me as Gcal, Wage is who I am in my heart and who shows up to collaborate with you every day.
Why This Newsletter
My journey into Web3 and DAOs it’s brought out the writer in me, as I’m so entrenched in what I’m learning, I don’t want to lose the chance to crystalize it. Writing has helped me process and connect with myself, my values, and the frameworks I follow that I’ve never documented or understood.
I intend to create this newsletter as a weekly resource of my experiences and learnings as they happen in real-time. It is a way for me to collect the resources I find and share them with you, and it is also a way for me to share what I’m learning along the way.
I’m sharing this because I want to give back to the community that is giving so much to me, but also because I want to invite you to come along with me on the ride.
Bankless DAO Season 6
Entering Season 6 of Bankless DAO felt like the perfect time to start journaling this journey as I step into the role of PM Guild Coordinator.

No quote could describe more clearly exactly what I am doing as I enter Week 1 of Bankless DAO Season 6.
In Season 6, I was lucky enough to be elected by my peers as the Guild Coordinator for the PM Guild.
I’ve spent just about all my time in the PM Guild at Bankless DAO and have decided to take the go-for-depth vs. breath approach at this point in my Web3/DAO journey. My first season was season 4, and I joined about halfway through and immediately knew this was a place I wanted to be. It is a place full of thought leaders who see the opportunity to disrupt and create new ways of working through blockchain technology and crypto mindsets to reduce human coordination failures.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be in on the ground floor and shape the future of work.
I walked into Season 6 with that incredible feeling of imposter syndrome when I first joined a DAO.
All of my favorite voices were present:

So here I am at the absolute edge of my comfort zone and setting goals and learning objectives for myself that will truly push me this Season.
So how did Week 1 go….
I published my first Sesh poll to gain consensus and ratify a piece of governance for our guild!
I had a blast and felt out of my comfort zone all week (and all at the same time) brainstorming and working with members of the guild to create an active member proposal with criteria that would help incentivize both active participation and add value to the guild.
I ran my first PM Guild Weekly Synch as Guild Coordinator.
Talk about jumping out of the plane without a parachute and having to navigate your way down. I’m no stranger to running meetings, but coordinating and running this kind of meeting is different. I don’t really know anyone, I don’t have pre-established and long-standing relationships, I can’t see any faces, I’m not the boss, I’m not the decision-maker, and I don’t want to be.
My goal as Guild Coordinator is to listen, learn, and facilitate. I want to use everything I’ve learned about improv, collaboration, leadership, and teamwork to ensure everyone feels like they have a place and a voice.…
My job is to leave my mark on the guild and move it forward for the next 13 weeks with vision, direction, and coordination, all through decentralized decision-making principles and working methodologies.
It’s terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time because it’s a live crash course in servant leadership and coordination of a decentralized organization in which I have no authority, and there are no employees.
While discussing the piece of governance we were looking to ratify, I was asked some thought-provoking questions about the what and why that made me stop and think in the middle of a meeting, and it was the best thing that could have happened to me.
I didn’t want to be right. I wanted to do what was right for the guild.
I was able to pause, think and react thoughtfully.
How lucky am I that I get to practice and refine this skill in Bankless DAO.
