We are part of something bigger than ourselves. This week, we are joined from the UK by psychotherapist and co-founder of Misfit Robots Marianne Le Coyte Grinney.
Together, we explore the systems of care that are essential to our mental health and the Gratitude Blooming Podcast theme of Sorrow, represented by the flower the Touch-me-not.
Marianne reminds us that mental health at its most basic level is a simple way to talk about the health of our brain.
Some simple practices introduced by Marianne to help get grounded: Pay attention to your screen time. Less is better. Get rest. And recognize that FOMO happens. It’s okay to feel and to figure out what will make you feel better.
Lastly, Marianne introduced the practice of autogenics, a method to support relaxation. It means “coming from within”. The practice supports connecting to your own nervous system and to calm it down.
