Squirt11es Thoughts

I could dive into how the market is down and it’s tough for all NFT projects to hold any upside. But I'm a glass half full type of person!

Projects are making moves right now! Look closely and you can tell that there is serious building happening. I have 4 projects that are standing out to me right now. Otherside, DeadHeads, Moonrunners and Rebud.

Otherside

They are killing it right now! Two successful stress tests in the books and the first voyage on July 16th is one week away. I was able to participate in the first stress test earlier this week and was impressed with the experience.

Keep in mind this is a web3 company doing what no web3 native company has ever done before. This isn’t Riot games who have a decade of experience building something. Will there be bumps along the road? Yes! But that’s ok, us as Otherside holders and web3 supporters need to offer constructive feedback and not dunk on small mistakes.

We are here to build something better than web2 and remember, it will take time.

DeadHeads

The work being put into DeadHeads is more behind the curtain but because i’m on the team i’ll speak a little bit about it.

The team is putting in work! Starting with an entire new world for DeadHeads, Skull Troopers and HaloHeads to live in. In addition the dev team is putting together some exciting improvements for the owners dapp and other technology.

DeadHeads might be dead but they don’t sleep.

Moonrunners

This free to mint project hit the NFT world with multiple days of top volume of any NFT project, it’s been a strong two weeks! Within those two weeks expectations have been on the moon. Talks of a game, incredible mysterious founders and one of the most active communities supporting the project.
I personally have written a couple threads on the project, it’s been fascinating watching this lore based NFT project grow. I guess Dontfeedwolf and I have a thing for lore based projects.

But even if you’re not part of the project I'd recommend you watch how this unfolds. Should be fascinating. Not to mention the community burned well over 500 moonrunners because of some hints in the lore.

Also because of that burn event I wrote an article on how to burn via the contract. Check it out and save it for future reference.

Rebud

Over at Rebud we are building and building, this is another case of lots happening in the background but not as much is seen on the surface. Building out the infrastructure for web3 utility on the online cannabis marketplace is going well.

Not to mention a big celebration for Rebud OG holders tomorrow, make sure to attend and get some free NFTs.

Phibacka31 Thoughts

My thoughts right off the bat are: I’m glad people think NFTs are cool again. The thing is this really is just the start. There have been far too many doom and gloom posts over the past few weeks. At the same point, this has been good for the space. The “reset” was needed. We even got rid of some of the grifters who were only here to extract value from the community. That is good**.**

MINTING- I’ve been non existent when it comes to new mints. So little excites me when Istack them against projects that I hold AND don’t hold, but believe in. The bar has been set higher and I am here for it. I will never be the daily trader. I simply do not have the time. I’m focused on projects that I want to hold long term and getting out of others that have shifted in my pecking order

IMPOSTER SYNDROME- This has been something that has plagued me for my entire life. I think it has helped me to be competitive in a way and push me to be the best, but at times it takes away from the belief I have in myself if it doesn't end with me on top.

This had taken hold of me over the past month or so as our spaces had thinned and it felt like I had no impact. I then realized, with the help of many dope people, how important it is to focus on the community we DO have. We’ve created a family and it’s something that will continue to grow as we push the boundaries in the space. It’s gonna take longer as we don’t have 100K followers, but the end result is so worth it.

YUGA- Simply put, I could not be more bullish on YUGA as a whole. It is the number one team in the space and it’s leading the charge in this new world. With that, I am focusing some more of my energy in creating content for the Otherside and Yuga with familiar faces as well as some new ones.
We’d love to have you along on the ride as we make this journey dope with: Bored TV

We will be exploring the Otherside with you as we interview builders and collectors in the space in the most fun way.

Dontfeedwolfeth Thoughts

A lot of Twitter accounts have been compromised recently. Curious when we will go from ‘no discord, no roadmap’ to ‘no discord, no roadmap, no twitter.’ A bad joke. Not that it’s slowed the creation and compromise of discords either. I imagine all these tools come back again and this meta of removing tools is just another cycle.

We throw paint at the wall, see what sticks. Copy the person who threw the paint. How did they stand, what tools did they use or not? Few discuss whether or not the success was indeed random? Fooled by Randomness. What worked one way today, may not work a second time tomorrow. Or a third. Or a fourth. We beat many dead horses into the ground.

Focus on building and taking advantage of the opportunities. A bear market is a builder's market. We have a lot of data. It’s easy to look at what has succeeded and try to emulate it. But I find much value in what failed. There’s far more data there than trying to copy the few successes.

Besides, how do we define success in web3? Who and what defines it? How many people did we turn away for every one we captured? Is that success? Did we build a community whose only commonality was making money? Few made money, a lot more lost a lot of money. Was that success? Is there more to NFTs and this technology than speculating and gambling?

Is it even necessary to use web3 to build the businesses we’ve seen thus far? Very few can only have been created with web3 tech. Nouns for instance. Cryptopunks. Bored Apes could arguably be established in web2, with web2 tools. It pretty much is. Yet that is the pinnacle of success in this space when I would argue Nouns is one of the few true successes of web3. Crickets for nouns. Music Festivals and much Press for BAYC.

As the euphoria of the bull market dissipates I question what happened to the love of tech or art? We strayed away in a hurry to sell. We focused on getting people in the door, but missed the mark on retention. We definitely found exclusivity and redefined status for celebrities and the wealthy with flexing of PFPs and capital allocation. But is that truly the ethos of Web3?
