Open Letter to the Halo Community: Halo Civilization Convention

Dear Haloers,

Social services are an integral part of the Halo platform, aimed at providing users with a healthy and free Web3 social platform for creating, sharing, exchanging viewpoints, and achieving social monetization. In order to maintain the basic order of this community, promote its healthy development, and better safeguard the rights of users, we are pleased to announce the "Halo Civilization Convention" to manage the behavior of users within this community.

Regarding Violations

Violence, harassment, fraud, and similar behaviors hinder people from expressing themselves, ultimately diminishing the value of information exchange. Our principle is to ensure that everyone can participate in public dialogue freely and safely.

Definition of Violations

Violations refer to illegal, pornographic, violent, and other behaviors that seriously disrupt platform order. Violating the following regulations within the Halo community will constitute a serious violation, including but not limited to the following behaviors:

Safety

  1. Violent Speech: You may not threaten, incite, glorify, or express desire for violence or harm.

  2. Violent & Hateful Entities: You can’t affiliate with or promote the activities of violent and hateful entities.

  3. Child Sexual Exploitation: We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation on Halo.

  4. Abuse/Harassment: You may not share abusive content, engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so.

  5. Hateful conduct: You may not attack other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.

  6. Perpetrators of Violent Attacks: We will remove any accounts maintained by individual perpetrators of terrorist, violent extremist, or mass violent attacks, and may also remove posts disseminating manifestos or other content produced by perpetrators.

  7. Suicide: You may not promote or encourage suicide or self-harm.

  8. Sensitive media: You may not post media that is excessively gory or share violent or adult content within live video or in profile or header images. Media depicting sexual violence and/or assault is also not permitted.

  9. Illegal or Certain Regulated Goods or Services: You may not use our service for any unlawful purpose or in furtherance of illegal activities. This includes selling, buying, or facilitating transactions in illegal goods or services, as well as certain types of regulated goods or services.

Privacy

  1. Private Information: You may not publish or post other people's private information (such as home phone number and address) without their express authorization and permission. We also prohibit threatening to expose private information or incentivizing others to do so.

  2. Non-Consensual Nudity: You may not post or share intimate photos or videos of someone that were produced or distributed without their consent.

  3. Account Compromise: You may not use or attempt to use credentials, passwords, tokens, keys, cookies or other data to log into or otherwise access, add, delete or modify the private information or account features of any Halo account other than your own (or those you have been directly authorized to do so via Halo’s Teams authorization, OAuth authorization or similar mechanism).

Authenticity

  1. Platform Manipulation and Spam: You may not use Halo’s services in a manner intended to artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience on Halo.

  2. Misleading and Deceptive Identities: You may not impersonate individuals, groups, or organizations to mislead, confuse, or deceive others, nor use a fake identity in a manner that disrupts the experience of others on Halo.

  3. Synthetic and Manipulated Media: You may not deceptively share synthetic or manipulated media that are likely to cause harm. In addition, we may label posts containing synthetic and manipulated media to help people understand their authenticity and to provide additional context.

Penalty Measures

Users must strictly adhere to the following norms. Otherwise, the community reserves the right to impose the following single or multiple risk control measures based on the severity of the user's violation, the scope of its impact, the motive behind the behavior, and other objective factors:

  1. Educational reminders, message warnings;

  2. Hiding of violating content;

  3. Deduction of XP rewards;

    1. Reported creators: Once it is confirmed that spam content has been posted

      1. Deduction of the XP earned for being featured on Trending

      2. Additional deduction of N XP, where N = number of verified reports * fixed XP. When a user's total XP falls below 100 XP, the user will lose the qualification to post/comment.

    2. Participants who voted on reported posts

      1. Deduction of the XP earned for participating in the vote

      2. Additional deduction of N XP, where N = number of reports * fixed XP. When a user's total XP falls below 100XP, the user will lose the qualification to post/comment.

  4. Restriction of partial or complete user privileges;

  5. Legal accountability.

If your post makes it to the trending section, it means that apart from your followers, all other Halo users can see your post. This offers you the opportunity to connect and exchange experiences with more people, and high-quality content will also receive XP rewards.

Halo's principle is to present the best content to everyone. However, defining good content seems to be a challenging task as everyone has their own standards. We do not believe that purely algorithmic logic is capable of recommending high-quality content to everyone. Instead, we have decided to hand over content governance to the Halo community.

To encourage quality creators, Halo provides the opportunity for Halo Membership Pass holders to recommend their posts to be featured on the trending section. If you believe that your post is valuable and engaging enough, you can choose to "Recommend to Trending". If these posts receive enough votes from the Halo community, they will be showcased in the Trending section. These opportunities are limited, and if your content is not voted through, you will lose a chance, so please make good use of it.

Before choosing "Recommend to Trending", please self-assess whether your post meets the following criteria:

  1. The content is healthy and safe, and does not violate any community guidelines.

  2. The content is informative and enlightening for others.

  3. The content is authentic and free from any fraudulent information.

  4. The content is harmless and does not cause distress to others.

If your post only contains emojis or a few simple words, it might not get enough votes for trending. Likewise, please adhere to the above standards when voting. Every vote you cast is crucial in shaping the Halo ecosystem.

Scope of Content

Based on long-term market data feedback from the Halo community, the following types of posts are more likely to be welcomed:

  1. Crypto research and insights

  2. The latest industry news

  3. Reports on on-chain activities

  4. Tracking smart money and whales

  5. Discovering next Alpha projects

  6. Guides to airdrop hunting

  7. Interesting life experiences

  8. Fun memes are always welcome

By adhering to these guidelines, we can collectively ensure that the trending section on Halo continues to showcase high-quality and engaging content.

Report

We cordially invite you to join the community governance and enable the reporting function to all HMP holders. If you believe that certain content violates this code of conduct, please exercise your right to report it. Our editors will conduct a secondary review of the reported content, and if it is confirmed to be spam, the content will be removed and corresponding punitive measures may be applied in response.
