Luca started by congratulating the community on the new ATH for the collection. There will be many amazing things that will ship in '23, and Pudgy Penguins are positioned to be the face of NFTs because no matter your race, gender, etc., you can see yourself as a Pengu. The priority for 2023 is finding product market fit for physical goods, allowing the team not to be beholden to mints and royalties for revenue while increasing brand awareness.

With so many newcomers coming to our Discord, Luca asks us to help informatively onboard them. There are channels & commands provided with the relevant information, & they'll address any uncertainties in formal posts. To join the huddle, one needs a Pudgy Penguin or Lil Pudgy. Accountability

He says there have been cases where items were late. He apologizes, and he says he needs to do a better job managing expectations. He says excellent products take time, and he would rather be late than ship a subpar product.

Future Events

Luca wants to do something with the World Poker Tour, and Luca wants to lean into poker because we have a very affluent poker base. You can also expect an Asian sprint as well as an event in Europe. Luca will likely be traveling a lot this year.

Later in the call, Luca said he wants to throw a concert! If you've listened to previous interviews, he got his start throwing underground rap events, although he said it wouldn't necessarily be a rap event.

Toys/Clothing/Merch

There will be some exclusive stuff for holders in late Q1/early Q2. Luca also said “Tech Stack” regarding the toys. Luca continued by saying maximum attention and detail on this next merch release, as the team was surprised with how fast the Igloo merch sold out (about 5 minutes). He also said their will be XXL sizes available in future clothing drops.

A community member asked if there were any plans to relate NFT attributes to merch releases, such as if you have that trait, there is a pre-release window? Luca told Lorenzo to write that down. Luca is taking some of the best traits that can be crossed over to merch and making them, like the bear hat.

The Future

In several months, we will see how Luca and Lorenzo tie everything together and change everything in the NFT space, leading the charge in shifting away from ponzinomics as “value” for NFT holders.

Luca noted that several announcements are ready, and he's just waiting for the opportune time to release them. Some of these relate to the Advisory Board "Superstar" and an update on the Quest Map (Luca thinks the map, minus Pengu games, will be complete by the end of Q1).

A community member asked What is the benefit of the Advisory Board? It allows for quicker/better problem-solving and enables a better/broader network for the team. We’ll soon see a video on a group relating to IP, which Jess Richardson helped facilitate the networking.

Another community asked when will is the next licensing opportunity, and will we need to submit our Penguins again? Luca answered we will have to submit them again, and “there will be one more deal before a ton of deals.”

The last question was for an update on the Pudgy Penguin game. Luca said the team is prioritizing brand awareness, content, and product over building the game, as it will make it easier to make partnerships, but the game design deck is built.
