Octopus and Metal Hands

A chubby little octopus wearing a mechanical helmet is desperately wiggling its tentacles and trying to escape.

“...루투스 켜아무 노래나 일단 틀어아무거나 신나는 걸로아무렇게나 춤춰아무렇지 않아 보이게아무 생각 하기 싫어아무개로 살래 잠시…”

One of Beaugosse’s clones is humming the most popular song Anysong from South Korea while flying in the sky. He rolls to speed up and approaches the little octopus.

When he gets close enough, two feathers fall off the tips of his metal wings and shoot out like two guided missiles. Boosted by flames, they track down and hit the poor little octopus accurately.

“Bravo! Look how perfectly designed I am. Such a loss for the world if there is only one me.”

The little octopus explodes into lots of red crystal shards. The clone Beaugosse circles around and checks the remains. Then he starts to hunt the next target.

“Eleven targets have been proved invalid.” Beaugosse is standing beside Queen. Dozens of metal feathers are floating in front of him like monitors showing what his clones are seeing. “Huh, I’ve found something weird.”

The clone Beaugosse hovers in the air, not sure if what is happening down on the ground is normal.

An irregularly shaped ball-like object is rolling on the ground. Many purple shadow monsters that are ubiquitous in the trial world are running away from it in all directions.

It is just like in the old adventure movies of the 1980s and 1990s where a rolling stone is chasing the adventurer who has entered the maze and triggered the trap by mistake.

What’s more hilarious is that the metal ball is even playing not-so-popular rock songs from the old days.

Every now and then, the weird metal ball will hit the buildings and rebound at a higher speed, or it will suddenly bounce to mid-air and smash down. The shadow monsters are fighting hard against the ball, but their fangs and claws can’t do any harm to its surface, only creating a shower of sparks. Those who fail to run away end up in broken pieces all over the ground.

“What's the matter with this thing?” The clone Beaugosse is puzzled, “And it has such terrible taste in music.”

At this moment, the metal ball cracks open, and the person who was curling inside now stands up. It is a bearded man wearing two huge metal hands.

“Huh? A new type of monster?” JS the bearded man looks up at the clone Beaugosse in the air.

“The hell you are the monster! Have you seen a monster as handsome and perfect as me?”

“Aha! This new monster actually has its own lines, which is funny.” JS laughs out loud. He has completely mastered the ways of using metal hands now.

“Shut up!” The clone Beaugosse is pissed off. He doesn’t want to waste time talking nonsense with this messy tramp. So he flaps his wings and over a dozen of feather missiles are launched and come straight toward JS on the ground.

JS opens his metal hands to shield himself while he quickly runs and rolls to dodge the missiles. He yells, “Hey! This is not fair! How can I beat a monster floating in the air? This must be a bug of this trial world.”

Finally, the bombing of the feather missiles stops. JS has survived. But he is soon attracted by something behind the clone Beaugosse. He is confused, “What is that strange thing behind you doing? Is it here to fix the bug?”

The clone Beaugosse sneers, “Are you planning to sneak attack me when I turn around, you idiot?”

Right after his words, a chubby little octopus wearing a mechanical helmet suddenly jumps out from behind and lands on his back. JS doesn’t know what it did to the clone Beaugosse’s wings but they are shattered into red crystal shards in a flash.

Without his wings, the clone Beaugosse loses his flying ability and drops straight to the ground.

“Well done, little one!” JS seizes the opportunity. He leaps up and hits the clone Beaugosse with a solid punch.

Punched by the huge metal fist, the clone Beaugosse is smashed against the wall. Electric sparks and thick white smoke come out from his broken body. While he still has the head of Beaugosse, what is below his neck has turned into a lot of tentacles with some mechanical devices that look like high technology. And all of his skin, including the head, has turned lavender.

“Ew, what the hell is this? How gross...” JS can’t help frowning and cursing. Then he turns to look curiously at the little octopus who just helped him in time. “So, who are you? Or maybe I should ask, what are you?”
