In the other room of the maze, a monster with four arms and two heads is growling and attacking with its sharp black claws.
But it misses every time and gets even more irritated because its target, a robot cat the size of a tiger, is jumping and dodging so swiftly.
While the monster is distracted by the robot cat, Joo teleports to its backside. She raises her red club with spikes formed by red electric sparks, teleports again to mid-air, and smashes toward the back of the monster's right head.
Achoo!
Joo suddenly sneezes while she is swinging the club. The two-headed monster is immediately alerted and ducks away. Joo misses her target and only hits one of the monster's arms. A red spike pierces deeply into that arm.
With a flicker of the red electric spike, the monster's wounded arm disintegrates into dust. The monster howls in pain.
Joo sneezes again when she reappears in a safe corner of the room. "This maze is absurd," complains Joo, "Who would expect that to get this super great power boost of disintegrating things, the cost is to sneeze all the time."
She thought it wouldn't be a big problem for her to sneeze from time to time, but ever since she entered this room to battle with the monster, she has been interrupted by sneezing so many times. She would fail to teleport because of a sneeze. She would mess up an attack because of a sneeze.
But Joo never easily loses heart. She keeps collaborating with her robot cat, and they launch attacks by turns. Finally, Joo seizes a chance and hits both heads of the monster with one swing.
The monster's giant body crumbles and disappears as its two heads disintegrate into a cloud of dust.
Meanwhile, the guardian announces that Joo has earned one point.
After resting for a few minutes, Joo goes to check the table that just reappeared in the middle of the room.
Below the red button, she sees the option that she is expecting.
It reads, "Join your teammates."
But the option below the blue button also draws her attention, "Start a PVP fight, one successful strike will get you one point"
"JS hasn't found the fragment key. If I can get rid of even one of the Bubble Gang guys, it will save him a lot of trouble. "
Looking at the option below the blue button, Joo ponders. The winning condition is so specific, and her teleportation ability will be a great advantage in this battle. There is no reason for her not to try.
Joo takes a deep breath and presses the blue button.
The wall of the opposite room opens. A group of handsome men with metal wings are hovering in it. They look like angels that have descended to the mortal world.
"Aha! Look who this is!" Beaugosse chuckles with joy, "The lady who can teleport. So we both are confident that we can take out one of our rivals, right?"
Joo rolls her eyes and says, "It’s good to be confident, but being overly confident will make you look like a fool."
Dozens of spinning metal feathers suddenly shoot at Joo, almost blocking her vision entirely.
"Good point. I hope it'll be fun to defeat you."
Joo teleports to the other corner of the room just in time. Then she sneezes once again. She feels so lucky that this time the teleportation was not interrupted by the sneeze.
Ping, ping, ping! With intensive sounds, all of the metal feathers fired by Beaugosse are nailed to the floor.
"Huh? Why didn't they explode?" Joo is confused. The feather missiles are supposed to be explosive, and that's why she has teleported herself to the other end of the spacious room.
There are twenty targets in total, including Beaugosse and his clones. Since he probably will create even more clones, this battle won't end shortly.
Joo pops up behind one of the targets and hits him with her club. That target immediately explodes into dust. Before the dust dissipates, over a dozen metal feathers dart out and pierce into the wall before which Joo was staying a second ago.
Joo narrowly escapes. But she has confirmed one thing.
"I see. Mr. Beaugosse. You've chosen to enhance your ability, but the cost is that your metal feathers won't explode, right?"
"Smart," Beaugosse shrugs, "but pointless. You'll get beaten up anyway."
He and his clones spread out and stay close to the walls, leaving no room for Joo to get behind them.
The next moment, the room is filled with countless metal feathers flying around. Joo has nowhere to hide.
The robot cat jumps to Joo's side. By waving its paws and tail, it blocks most of the attacks for Joo.
"I have to be quick. The longer this battle lasts, the worse my situation will be." Joo thinks to herself and sneezes again, "I have to find out which one of them is the real Beaugosse. Right. I had pretended to be a frumpy girl and met the real him earlier, and I put a bugging device on his shoes!"
Joo secretly instructs the robot cat to scan every Beaugosse in the room. Jacobs has installed some gadgets of his invention into the cat. It is really helpful to have a teammate who is proficient in electronic machinery and computers.
With the cat protecting her and her teleportation ability, Joo barely stays safe and holds on till her chance comes.
"Got you!"
Joo instructs the robot cat to plunge at the real Beaugosse while she teleports to the side of a clone Beaugosse.
"Haha, what a shame. You are wrong again."
The metal feathers jangle when they hit the robot cat, leaving countless deep cuts on it. One can imagine, the cat will be scarred all over when it transforms back into a motorbike.
After a storm of feather strikes, there will always be a short pause. Joo seizes the opportunity and switches position with the cat using teleportation.
She reappears before the real Beaugosse and hits hard at him with her red club.
"Huh?" Beaugosse is surprised.
By using her robot cat as a distraction, Joo believes she definitely will hit the real Beaugosse this time.
Just as the spiked club is about to smash in his beautiful face, Beaugosse suddenly goes out of sight.
"He can teleport, too? No, he has shrunk!" The club strikes down but only hits the empty air. Joo realizes that Beaugosse didn't vanish into the air but shrank in a blink of an eye. He is still there but has become the size of a sparrow.
No wonder she missed again.
Joo wants to follow up with another strike, but the feathers are back and stop her. And since she has to take the cost of her power boost, she can't teleport as she wants because of the ceaseless sneezes. She has to run and roll to dodge the feather darts.
Beaugosse quickly leaves the dangerous position and returns to his original size. Clustered around by his clones, he launches a new round of attack.
"It seems you've found a way to locate the real me. But I won't give you another chance." As he speaks, he orders his clones to fire metal feathers incessantly.
With her robot cat helping her, Joo concentrates on swinging her club and fends off the spinning metal feathers one after another.
Suddenly she misses one that she is sure she is going to hit it.
"Oh, no. The metal feathers can shrink, too!" It is too late when Joo realizes this fact.
The feather has shrunk to the size of a mosquito, but it doesn’t slow down the slightest. So there is no doubt what will happen after it bypassed Joo's club.
Swoosh!
The metal feather returns to its original size and pierces Joo's shoulder like a knife.
The guardian announces the result in no time, "Participant Beaugosse just hit his opponent and won the battle. He gets one point while Participant Joo loses one point."
The sign of teleportation begins to flicker around Joo. She hates to admit it but has to accept the failure.
When she reappears in another room, she sees the concerned faces of JS and Jacobs.
"Great! We've finally reunited, Joo."
