What happens when we transfer a profile from Lens Protocol 🌿 to another Wallet? Will our followers are lost? Will the profiles we follow import to the new one?🤔

How the system works⚙️

Our Wallet (A) contains:

🪪Our profile NFT, in my case 'Juampi.lens'
👥Our NFT follows (the profiles we follow)

Here it is important to understand how follow NFTs work…

Follow NFTs 👤

Every time we follow a user, we are minting a "Follow NFT" 👤

This can be thought of as a pointer that “points” ➡️ to the NFT Profile of the user we are following.

Multiple NFT follows point to one NFT Profile. But what if I transfer the NFT profile to another wallet?🤔

By transferring our NFT Profile, our new wallet will have access to it and its information (posts)📄

Our followers won't get lost since, as mentioned before, Follow NFTs👤 points to the NFT🪪 profile, not a wallet!

The "pointer" keeps pointing➡️ to the NFT.

Downsides

However, not all information is maintained 🥲

Our follows (users we follow), because of being individual NFTs👥, are not transferred together with our NFT Profile🪪

If we want to recover them we will have to transfer them one by one back to the new Wallet 💼

To sum up

If we transfer our Profile NFT🪪 to another wallet, there will be no problem, don't panic, it's safe👌🏻

The only thing, keep in mind that you will have to follow your friends again or transfer your follow NFTs👥
