User Experience Feedback and Suggestions for Binance Web3 Wallet
March 1st, 2024

After creating my Binance Web3 wallet some time ago, I have not had extensive usage of it. However, through my experience with the wallet and thorough exploration of its functions, I have gathered valuable feedback and suggestions aimed at enhancing the overall user experience.

๐Ÿ’› Section 1: Homepage

1.1 Provide more wallet options, not limited to MPC

Ease of importing wallets into other PC wallets for dApp connectivity is important for experienced users.

As an experienced user, I'm looking for a decentralized wallet that offers easy import functionality across different PC wallets. However, I have concerns about the MPC wallet's ability to facilitate smooth imports and potential risks associated with importing private keys into a new wallet.

The information provided on the page only mentions that the action cannot be undone, without specifying the actual consequences. As a result, I'm hesitant to transfer a significant amount of assets into the wallet. While I am aware that I can use it with Binance's endorsement, the uncertainties surrounding the MPC quality of the wallet discourage me from using it frequently. Hence, I have refrained from making any deposits into the wallet thus far.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Increase wallet options to cater to user preferences

-> A difficult-to-โ€œmoveโ€ MPC wallet may deter experienced users from using the Binance Web3 wallet.

1.2 Advanced: introduction of AA wallet

I tried the AA wallet when OKX Wallet launched it. Although it was initially challenging for new users to navigate, the process of creating an AA wallet was relatively straightforward. OKX Wallet allowed me to satisfy my basic needs of AA wallet, a trending topic in the space, and explore its capabilities before its corresponding application gained widespread popularity. In contrast, the Binance Web3 wallet offers limited opportunities for enthusiasts to engage in extensive exploration.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Develop and launch AA wallet feature

-> Provide users with the choice to delve deeper into its functionalities and expand their horizons

1.3 Multiple wallet creation

Upon clicking the "+" symbol on the screen, I discovered that the Binance Web3 wallet only allows the creation of a single wallet, which I find to be quite limiting. Typically, I prefer to have at least two wallets within a single app. As a loyal user, I usually transfer my assets into a primary wallet to make conservative investments across various dApps. Simultaneously, I like to create a secondary wallet to take more risks and explore new projects. Occasionally, I may even require a third wallet to test websites with potential risks. The absence of multiple wallet creation options in the Binance Web3 wallet becomes bothersome for me.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Enable users to create multiple wallets within the app to cater to their diverse needs and preferences.

1.4 PFP customization

The current options for customizing my profile picture (PFP) are quite limited, and the meanings behind these choices are often difficult to comprehend.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Enable users to set our own PFP with images or NFTs

-> Provide users with a wider range of personalization options, enhancing user satisfaction and allow for greater expression of individuality within the platform

1.5 Wallet import options

The UI for importing wallets in the Binance Web3 wallet is currently quite basic. It would greatly benefit from the inclusion of additional options to provide users with more choices. Two common methods that should be considered are iCloud integration and importing via private keys. It is worth noting that the Binance Web3 wallet already enables users to back up their wallets using iCloud. Therefore, it would be advantageous to allow users to import wallets directly from iCloud as well.

Additionally, some wallets provide users with word choices as they enter partial words, which enhances the user experience and reduces the chances of errors.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion:

  • Add additional ways to import wallet: iCloud / private keys

  • Optimize the UI of importing wallet

1.6 Wallet deletion option

In situations where a wallet has been compromised by scammers or contains risky records, it is crucial for users to have the ability to transfer all their assets to a new wallet and delete the hacked one. In such cases, the absence of a wallet deletion option becomes problematic. I can delete imported wallet, but not the MPC one. Itโ€™s suggested to add explanation of why the MPC wallet cannot be deleted.

1.7 Too many features limited by Backup

When clicking on the "Receive, Transfer & More" section, the presence of the "Back Up Now" pop-up window poses a barrier to utilizing the features within the wallet. This is a common occurrence across different wallets. When trying out a new wallet, it is important for users to have the opportunity to explore its features extensively before depositing any crypto assets. However, the requirement to back up the wallet creates limitations and inhibits further exploration.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Reduce the barriers associated with the backup process and allow users to have a greater freedom in exploring the various features of the wallet.

-> One way to achieve this could be by incorporating a more prominent reminder to back up the wallet on the homepage, making users aware of the importance of this step while still providing them with the flexibility to explore and experiment with the wallet's functionalities.

1.8 Send/Receive/Transfer confusion

In a decentralized wallet, the usual options are limited to "Send" and "Receive" since they represent the two primary actions related to assets - sending and receiving. Consequently, when I encountered the "Transfer" option on the homepage, it initially caused some confusion. Though "Transfer" in Binance Web3 wallet serves the same purpose as โ€œSendโ€, it indeed is very convenient to make transfers between the DEX wallet and the CEX wallet.

(Optional) Suggestion: Integrate the "Transfer" functionality into the "Send" option

1.9 Simplify the โ€œMoreโ€ section

As a wallet user, I prioritize having access to the essential wallet features and important gateways on the homepage. However, upon checking the "More" section, I find it overwhelming with excessive information.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Here are some specific suggestions to optimize the "More" section:

Networks: Since the network change can be conveniently accessed in the asset zone, there is no need to duplicate it in the "More" section. It can be removed from there as it is not of significant importance.

Connect dApps: The function to connect with various dApps is more relevant when exploring different dApps. Therefore, it can be excluded from the "More" section to declutter the homepage.

Approvals: A more practical approach would be to place the approvals feature beside the tokens on the homepage. This allows for easier access and management.

FAQ: Experienced users may not require detailed instructions, while new users may not fully understand the information by directly reading the articles on the page. To address this, it is suggested to include a clear entry for the FAQ section, usually within the wallet settings. This ensures that users can easily access and refer to the necessary instructions when needed.

-> By implementing these changes, the "More" section can be transformed into a simplified and easy-to-access area for important features.

1.10 Copy button for CA

When clicking on the "!" icon on the page, it leads to the page of token introduction and contract address (CA). While the contract address is already displayed, it would greatly enhance the user experience to have a convenient "COPY" button available. This button would allow users to effortlessly double-check and verify the CA without the risk of manual errors when copying it.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Add copy button for CA

1.11 Wallet not recognizing backup on homepage

After completing the wallet backup, it is clearly displayed on the Wallets page with โ€œBacked Upโ€. However, upon returning to the homepage and attempting to access the areas that were previously disabled by the backup process, a message stating that the wallet has not been backed up is still shown. This issue is a bug that needs to be addressed and resolved. For a better understanding of the problem, you can refer to the video provided in the Google Drive.๐Ÿ‘‡

1.12 Inability to find ENS domain addresses on Send page

When accessing the sending page, the option "Address or Domain Name" is displayed, suggesting that domain names are supported for transactions. However, upon entering an ENS domain name, the wallet fails to locate the corresponding address.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Explicitly indicate the types of domain names that are supported within the wallet

๐Ÿ’› Section 2: Markets

๐Ÿ’Ž Sub section 1: Inscriptions

2.1 Default page for โ€œMarketsโ€

I have noticed that Binance Web3 wallet has been actively promoting the inscription market recently, particularly through channels like Twitter. I was genuinely impressed by the promotions and decided to explore the inscription market within the wallet. However, I find it puzzling that when users click on "Markets," it does not default to the "Inscriptions" page.

Considering the significant effort put into promoting the โ€œInscriptionโ€ market, it would be more user-friendly to set the "Inscriptions" page as the default page when users click on "Markets." This would make it easier for users to directly access and explore the inscription market, aligning with the promotional efforts and enhancing the overall user experience.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Make the "Inscriptions" page more accessible to users within the app by setting it as the default page when clicking on โ€œMarkets"

-> Streamline the user journey and ensure that users can effortlessly explore and engage with the inscription market.

2.2 Additional BRC-20 token information

When trading BRC-20 tokens with the goal of short-term profit, liquidity becomes a critical concern. In addition to monitoring trends on social media and other channels, it is essential to have access to comprehensive analysis information. This includes details such as price history, previous transaction history, and other indicators. These pieces of information allow me to ensure that I can buy at a favorable price and have the ability to sell when desired, with a satisfactory level of liquidity.

I appreciate the display provided by the OKX wallet, as it offers a wealth of token details that assist me in making informed investment decisions. Furthermore, the OKX wallet separates my listings and activity, which proves to be highly convenient, especially in low liquidity markets. This separation allows me to easily check the current status of my listings.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion:

  • Incorporate more comprehensive information for BRC-20 tokens, including features such as price history and previous transaction history

  • Implement a separate display for listings, making it convenient for sellers to track and manage their current status

๐Ÿ’Ž Sub section 2: Crypto

2.3 Optimizing token display

The current display of tokens in the โ€œHotโ€ zone appears to be centralized and not aligned with the preferences of Web3 users. Many of the tokens featured in this section are popular coins on centralized exchanges (CEX), such as ADA and BCH. To better cater to the needs and interests of Web3 users, it is crucial to adjust the display logic of tokens and make it more suitable for decentralized finance (DeFi) users.

To address this issue, I suggest optimizing the Crypto section to reflect a more decentralized approach. This can be achieved by categorizing tokens according to hot ecosystems within the Web3 space, such as Solana or AI. By featuring tokens that are highly relevant to the Web3 and DeFi communities, users will have a more tailored and engaging experience within the wallet.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion:

  • Optimize the token display in a more decentralized way

  • Categorize tokens based on hot ecosystems like Solana or AI

-> Enhance the wallet's appeal to the Web3 community and provide users with a more relevant and engaging token selection.

๐Ÿ’› Section 3: Swap

3.1 Risky unlimited approvals

When granting approvals on the Swap page, the default setting for the quantity is set as unlimited, which poses a significant risk to users' assets and security.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Empower users to set token approval amounts

-> Reduce the potential for unauthorized or unintended transactions

๐Ÿ’› Section 4: Earn

4.1 Improving recommendations in โ€œYou May Be Interested Inโ€

The current layout of the Earn page seems to be lacking in terms of user appeal and high returns for Web3 users. Despite reviewing the details, I noticed that the top recommended tokens offer very low returns. This is particularly disappointing for Web3 users, with BNB, ETH, and BTCB displaying APYs of just 0.03%, 1.44%, and 0.01% respectively.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Manage the top section of the Earn page more effectively to provide users with better recommendations

-> This entails featuring tokens with more attractive APYs that align with the interests of Web3 users. By highlighting tokens with higher potential returns, the Earn section becomes more appealing and enticing for experienced users.

4.2 Support for more chains

It is crucial to expand the range of supported chains in the lending section. Currently, there are only TWO chains supported, which limits the choices available to users. For example, on the BNB Chain, only the first two stablecoins offer significant APYs, while the others generate relatively low returns. Similarly, on the Ethereum chain, although there may be more options with high APYs, users often face high gas fees that reduce the overall appeal of the chain.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion:

  • Expand the selection of tokens with high APYs in the "Earn" section

  • Add support for more chains to provide users with more choices

-> By implementing these suggestions, the Earn section can become more appealing to experienced users, offering a wider selection of tokens with attractive APYs across multiple supported chains.

๐Ÿ’› Section 5: Discover

The current "Trending DApps" section lacks effective information to assist users in further exploring the listed dApps. It is currently only useful if I already know which specific dApp I want to invest in. However, as a wallet user, I would greatly appreciate it if the wallet could recommend trending dApps to me. This would encourage me to explore and engage more within the wallet app. The section should present dApps that align with the current trends, as suggested by the section title, such as dApps in the Solana ecosystem or AI dApps.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Optimize the display of dApps and providing users with a clearer trending guide

-> Add more sub-sections that focus on HOT dApps within specific categories

The current "Popular Collections" section is the only NFT section I have found in the app. However, I find it to be overwhelming with too much information and, paradoxically, lacking in relevant details. It is evident that an upgrade is needed to improve the user experience.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Consider finding a better way to display NFT information if it's not a key focus area for the wallet.

5.3 Additional Tools section (Optional)

The current section lacks useful tools that can enhance the user experience. It would be beneficial to incorporate additional tools that allow Web3 users to perform actions such as revoking approvals or participating in airdrops on various platforms.

Suggestion: Consider the addition of a dedicated "Tools" section -> Provide users with a range of helpful tools that streamline their interactions with different platforms and enhance their overall usability

5.4 Event & airdrop center

Binance Web3 wallet hosts various ongoing events, but I couldn't locate a dedicated section to access information about past events and ongoing ones. This lack of a centralized event hub makes it inconvenient for users like me, as I have to resort to checking social media platforms instead of being able to access all event-related information within the app.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Create an event or airdrop center within the wallet

-> This centralized hub would serve as a comprehensive resource for users to stay updated on past and ongoing events, including airdrops.

5.5 Wallet bug on connecting to Radiant dApp, requiring re-entry

When attempting to access the Radiant dApp and clicking on the "Binance Wallet" option to connect, the wallet abruptly switches back to the homepage instead of establishing a connection. Upon tapping "Continue," the dApp successfully connects, but the wallet remains on the homepage. To access the dApp, I have to switch to the "Discover" section and re-enter the dApp. This issue requires resolution, as it disrupts the seamless user experience.

5.6 Inaccurate count of connected dApps in "More" Section of homepage

Despite successfully connecting the wallet to multiple dApps, the "More" section of the homepage only displays a count of one connected dApp. This discrepancy results in an inaccurate representation of the number of connected dApps. It is crucial to rectify this bug and ensure that the displayed count accurately reflects the actual connected dApps.

Others:

Notification center

Binance Web3 wallet currently lacks a notification center, making it challenging to find and review past messages. As a user, I am unable to locate a centralized location within the wallet to access notifications and check for any missed or previous messages.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion: Add a notification center directly into the Web3 wallet for users to access and review past messages

Social media content: Diversify content & partnerships

Binance has likely formed partnerships with numerous projects across the crypto space, and it's important to highlight that the BRC-20 or Bitcoin ecosystem is just one of the many hot trends. However, I have noticed that the majority of the content on the Binance Web3 wallet's Twitter account revolves around BRC-20. To provide a more diverse and engaging experience, it would be beneficial to expand partnerships in other areas and introduce a wider range of airdrop events associated with different ecosystems.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Suggestion:

  • Focus on enriching the Web3 space with a diverse range of content

  • Actively seek partnerships in various ecosystems and regularly rolling out airdrop events associated with different projects and platforms

-> By involving diversified content & partnerships, the wallet can avoid appearing monotonous and ensure that users are exposed to a broader spectrum of trends and projects within the crypto industry
