This guide will show you how to deploy a smart contract on the Taiko Alpha 3 testnet. If you are completely new to Taiko, refer to the full guide to learn how to complete other tasks as well.
π Before we begin, you might be wondering why we are deploying a smart contract on the Taiko Alpha 3 testnet. The reason behind this is the potential benefit it can bring for the Taiko airdrop.
The current Alpha 3 testnet is incentivized, meaning that by completing various tasks, you increase your chances of qualifying for the airdrop. What's more, participating in this process won't cost you anything.
So, to ensure you don't miss out on this opportunity, we've prepared a comprehensive guide on how to deploy a smart contract on the Taiko Alpha 3 testnet.
β Steps to take before diving into deploying a smart contract:
Add Taiko Alpha 3 testnet to Metamask
Get ETH on Sepolia
Bridge ETH from Sepolia to Taiko
If you have already completed these steps, you can skip them; otherwise:
Bridge ETH from Sepolia to Taiko using this link π

π Now letβs deploy a smart contract:
Go to OpenZeppelin. OpenZeppelin is a popular open-source framework for writing secure and scalable smart contracts in the Solidity programming language.
https://docs.openzeppelin.com/contracts/4.x/wizard
Enter the name of the smart contract, symbol, and premint amount. Feel free to enter any random values as they do not significantly impact the process.
Confirm the transaction when prompted π
After a successful transaction, your deployed contract will be visible in the bottom left corner of the page π
If you have reached this step, congratulations!!! π
You have successfully deployed a smart contract on the Taiko Alpha 3 testnet.
Now if you want to check the smart contract on Explorer, simply copy the contract address as shown below π
Go to the Taiko Explorer and search for the contract address π
There you will see all the details of your smart contract π
