What happened on layer 2 space recently:

  • The bridge design space is heating up! Bridges are necessary but also a potentially lucrative attack vector.
  • @rss3_ protocol and nodes now fully support Arbitrum for content and data indexing! This will allow for a lot more data visualization about what is happening on Arbitrum, a pretty big deal!
  • @CelestiaOrg announced their "Quantum Gravity Bridge" this week, a project they are developing which seeks to provide an off-chain DA mechanism.

  • @Immutable announced instant purchases of Layer2 $USDC using a credit card. Swiftly moving the needle on L2 user experience. Amazing!

  • Starkware is moving fast. One cool thing to watch will be projects which innovate in ways that the EVM and gas costs made impossible. That's where the alpha is IMO.

  • There's a new dashboard for tracking how much rollups are paying to secure the Ethereum network, in L1 fees paid by L2s. Check it out here:

  • @saurik discovered and reported a critical bug in @OptimismPBC this week. The bug would have allowed the attacker to print an arbitrary quantity of tokens! Wowsa, glad that the white hats won this one. Bravo to the white hat and congra for the juicy reward worth over $2M

  • The short version: #NFTs on #Layer2 will lower barriers to entry, bridging solutions are forthcoming, and the Layer 2 NFT community is beginning to flourish!

  • MetisDAO just announced a developer bounty! Great opportunity to learn about an L2 protocol while making some💰!
