it’s been exactly 2 weeks since i dropped motorheadz, and the response to the project has been a dream. before i continue, i want to give a big thank you to everyone who has supported the project thus far & a huge shoutout to the Quixotic team for building the best NFT launchpad in the game 🏎💨
so… i’m guessing the next thing on everyone’s mind is something along the lines of: what’s next?
and my answer to that would be: tbh, idk. but i think of a new idea every day 🏁
now i’m not your traditional NFT project founder, and motorheadz isn’t another one of those cut + paste pfp projects shilling obscure utility to convey value to flippers. the inherent benefit in each motorhead is captured in the artwork and it was my goal that people gravitated toward the project strictly for the visuals + vibe.
since i wanted my art to be the reason why people moved toward the project, it’s only natural that it’s the reason why people should stay. which leads me to the unveiling of my futuristic cabin situated on the outskirts of the digital city of optimism: motor-house (captured by my film camera).
this will be a free-to-mint NFT exclusive to motorheadz holders, and an unofficial addition to the Optimistic Explorer collection.
motor-house is an illustration embodying the OP-native roots motorheadz grew from, and is a visual image of the physical location of the project’s home within the larger optimsim ecosystem.
motor-house also marks my beginnings in developing AI generative artwork-- a topic that has been a hot debate amongst many artists in the space. when i first saw the images generated by some of the algorithms out there i felt a mix of emotions, and was definitely concerned about the negative downstream effects this would have on traditional artists like myself. but after a bunch of research and hours of playing around with some of the tools out there on the internet, my uncertainty quickly turned into an unexpected curiosity.
for any artists out there who are just discovering generative art, i encourage you to read this tweet thread by one of the greatest rockstars + artists of our generation-- mike shinoda (founder of linkin park)
currently i view these algorithms as new technology, no different than a camera, or the software i use to illustrate on my iPad. this is simply a new vertical in the world of visual creation, and will enable more people to create even more beauty in our world.
this is my thank you to the community, and a warm welcome to my digital landscape which will house whatever the hell i’ve got planned for the future ✨
