We are excited to kick off six weeks of GLM token giveaways for public good and regen-minded individuals on Farcaster.

Contest Overview

Rules:

• Participate in our weekly prompts in the /Octant channel.

• Each week, we'll select the best and most genuine responses and airdrop 250 GLM tokens to the winners.

• This will continue for five weeks, giving away a total of 11,000 GLM tokens.

Grand Prize:

• In week six, everyone who replies to our post with a transaction hash of their staked GLM on Octant will be entered to win the grand prize of 2,500 GLM or runner-up prizes of 1,000 GLM.

Why Octant?

To build the on-chain and off-chain world we desire, we need to ensure that projects contributing to the public good are funded. Octant is uniquely positioned with its recurring ETH staking yield to continuously support these projects.

About Octant:

• Octant is an app designed to reward both GLM holders and public goods in the Ethereum and web3 ecosystem.

• The Golem Foundation stakes 100,000 ETH and uses a portion of its staking yield to bring value to both GLM holders and public goods through Octant.

• GLM holders decide which projects get funding and the amount of matching they receive.

• Our mission is to distribute GLM to regens, public good advocates, and community builders to diversify and increase engagement in funding decisions.

How Octant Works

1. Stake GLM:

   • Stake the minimum required GLM to earn user rewards in ETH.

   • The required amount varies within each 90-day epoch, decreasing the earlier you lock in.

   • Rewards are determined by a time-weighted average: the longer your tokens are staked, the more you earn.

2. Rewards Distribution:

   • After the epoch ends, you can withdraw your ETH or contribute it to shortlisted public good projects.

   • Donations receive a boost from the matching pool, amplifying their impact.

Contest Details

We aim to increase participation in these processes and get GLM tokens into the hands of more public goods supporters.

Weekly Contests:

• Over the next five weeks, we will post prompts on Farcaster.

• The top posts will be rewarded with 250 GLM each, chosen based on quality and thoughtfulness, and ranked using the Abundance Protocol.

• This amount will allow winners to stake and participate in the voting process for the next epoch. This means getting a say in which public goods projects get funded, and helping impact how much they’ll receive.

Final Week:

• We will hold a proof of stake competition, randomly selecting and rewarding loyal community members who have met the GLM staked threshold and staked their GLM using Octant.

• The grand prize is 2,500 GLM (approximately 800 USD), runners up receive 1000 or 500 GLM.
