Kwenta exchange on V1 was launched in August 2020. Traders use the platform to buy synths & open long and short positions with a variety of trading tools to gain exposure to on-chain and real-world synthetic assets not possible elsewhere. Since its inception, Kwenta has facilitated over $19bn in spot trading volume and almost $1Bbn in Futures volume after just two short weeks of being in beta.
Today, we are excited to announce our largest V2 Beta Update. In this release, the V1 Kwenta synth swap platform gets an update this round and makes its transition to the V2 Beta platform. This first iteration of the Swap interface is now live & includes a redesigned interface and presents information in an intuitive way
In the current Beta release, traders won’t be able to see their swap history or their spot holdings within the V2 dashboard. We expect these features along with other historic data to be live on the Kwenta UI soon. Until then traders can view synth balances through the “asset selection” button on the swap page. Traders will still have access to the current V1 swap dApp!

We’ve been listening to our community’s feedback regarding V2 and we are constantly implementing improvements based on community feedback. As such, Kwenta traders can now see how they stack up against other traders with our brand new leaderboard. The Leaderboard will display net PNL including any fees paid or funding received and allow you keep an eye on what top traders are doing.
Another exciting part of this release is the ability to easily locate margin across any of the available Futures contracts. One of the pain points raised by community members and Kwenta traders was not being able to see where margin is deployed, having to manually sort through every market to find deployed margin. With this upgrade, traders can locate the total margin deployed and get an itemized breakdown per market by hovering over the new "sUSD Balance" button.
An automated keeper was developed and implemented by Synthetix to automatically open and close currently available legacy markets GOLD, SILVER, and EUR so they adhere to the same trade hours set by tradfi. There will be no manual intervention to open and close markets. To ensure traders on Kwenta are aware of when markets are paused, we've implemented a new "paused" market state. This state will clearly convey to traders when markets are non-tradable and when they become tradable again.
