Mar 27 - Why Layer 2? Exploring the World of Layer 2s with Guests!

zkSync, Arbitrum, and Teleport Network were invited to this Space. Questions regarding the Layer 2 ecosystem in general have been asked. Specifically, guests agreed on DeFi being the key component of a blockchain, bringing in cash flow and creating a prosperity that eventually brings users in.

The question about cross-chain bridging was also asked. Guests shared their personal opinions on the safety and efficiency of bridging assets on a primitive bridge and third-party bridge. This seemed to be more of a personal preference. Technically, Layer 2 solutions were actively getting in touch with more third-party bridge protocols to provide a more user-friendly solution.

Lastly, guests all agreed that Ethereum will continue to remain prosperous in 2022, given the fact that the Ethereum killer is still non-existent. We looked forward to seeing a healthier, more developed and user-friendly Ethereum in 2022, with the support of Layer 2 solutions.

Mar 30 - Layer 2 is waving: Fireside gathering with Arbitrum builders

Arbitrum, iZUMi Finance, DOPEX, Yin Finance were invited to this Space. We gathered representatives from top protocols on Arbitrum and asked them what were their intentions on building on Layer 2, specifically Arbitrum. The space began with iZUMi’s recent launch on Arbitrum and questions were answered by Jimmy from iZUMi Finance. The dev team of Arbitrum showed great interest and support towards LaaS (Liquidity-as-a-Service) protocols such as iZUMi and Yin Finance. In terms of compatibility, Arbitrum was the best solution for Ethereum developers to build.

Halko from DOPEX answered the question regarding whether Solana will become the ultimate solution for derivatives & options trading protocols. Ethereum by far still has the lowest barrier of entry for both developers and users. He was affirmative of Solana’s potentials but in the foreseeable future, Ethereum will still be dominant.

Nina from Arbitrum then introduced Arbitrum’s plan for 2022. DApps on Arbitrum will expand their coverage to NFTs and GameFi, etc. A cheaper and more capital-efficient solution will replace the Ethereum Mainnet to be the answer for most users.

Lastly, guests were pumped to see Ethereum’s upgrade to PoS in 2022. The Ethereum 2.0 will energize the whole EVM ecosystem and will definitely attract more builders to join the building of the crypto industry.

iZUMi Finance will provide more opportunities for iZUMians to get exposed to insightful knowledge freshly and directly from the industry. Please stay tuned to future events!
