Hey there, Beta testers!
We are excited to introduce our second platform update, which addresses a key aspect of blockchain technology - Approvals. This update marks a significant milestone in our quest to help you feel secure in your transactions and build trust in the blockchain. Let's take a closer look at the changes.
Approvals play a crucial role in blockchain technologies by safeguarding your wallet from unauthorized access. Smart contracts cannot access your cryptocurrencies or NFTs without your explicit approval.
The most common transactions that require token approval are token swaps and NFT listings. In token swaps, you need to authorize the DEX, such as Uniswap or Sushiswap, to use the tokens you are sending. In NFT listings, you must permit the Marketplace, such as OpenSea or LooksRare, to send the NFT you are selling to the buyer.
We are adding support for ERC-20 and ERC-721 Approval events and ERC-721 and ERC-1155 ApprovalForAll events. You will receive an e-mail notification every time you approve a smart contract to use your tokens.
This release also includes:
Aliases for the most common smart contracts
Improved support for tokens metadata
Minor bug fixes
Next release will be centered on richer smart contracts metadata. We will provide more information about the smart contracts you interact with. This change will help you to verify whether the results of your transactions align with your expectations.
