1) Deliberate Progression

Deliberate progression is the operating system of Engineered Fitness: intentional, incremental, iterative improvement.

2) Iterate

Each workout is an experiment. Change one variable at a time.

3) Composability

Build a fitness system using components that fit your goals.

4) Be better, be specific

Focus specifically on progress that is relevant to your goals.

5) Focus on what matters

Focus on the 20% of your energy that yields 80% of your progress.

6) Measure what matters

If it's not measured it's not managed.

7) Force adaptation

Give your body a reason to change.

8) Microprogressions become progress

Small, consistent, measurable improvements lead to large changes over time.

9) Make it a game

Progress should be fun.

10) Be flexible

The best plan is one that's easy to stick to.

11) Give it time

If you're not where you want to be, you probably haven't been doing it long enough.
