Minting on Zora: A simple guide

NFTs have revolutionized the world of art and digital ownership, providing a unique and secure way to own and trade digital assets.

Zora stands out as a prominent platform within the NFT ecosystem, enabling artists and creators to mint, sell, and trade their works in a decentralized manner.

This article will walk you through the process of minting you own NFT on Zora, opening the door to a world of possibilities in the creation and marketing of unique digital assets.

How to mint an NFT on ZORA:

1) Finding the NFT to mint:

  • If you already know which NFT you want to mint, simply use Zora’s search function to type the name of the NFT or its author and select it.
  • If you’re looking to discover what NFTs are available on Zora:

    • HOME: on the main page, Zora displays some of the most recent and/or popular NFTs.
  • EXPLORE: this section allows you to narow you search by theme, facilitating exploration.
  • TRENDING: here, Zora shows which NFTs are trending now, in the last hour, or in the last 24 hours.

2) Once you have found and selected the NFT:

  • The NFT image appears promintently.
  • On the side, all the corresponding information:

    • Name and author.

    • A brief description.

    • Information about the minting history.

    • How many units have been minted at the moment and how much time is left to mint it.

    • Comments and activity.

3) Minting the NFT: clicking the “Mint” button, allows you to mint the NFT (i.e., register a new NFT on the blockchain, thus recording it as your property).

  • In some cases, the author allows you to mint more than one unit of this particular NFT at once, which can be adjusted with a slider.
  • You will need to select on which blockchain you want to mint that NFT. Zora will indicate the balance of ETH you have available on each of the blockchain options.
  • After selecting the number of NFT units you wish to mint, by pressing the “Mint” button and signing the transaction from your wallet, you will proceed with the minting.
  • You can add a comment at the moment of minting, which would appear in the comments section. Or, you can check your minting from the “Activity” section.

4) You can view your NFT in your wallet.
