Also known as the Church of Nossa Senhora dos Anjos, it was built in the third quarter of the 16th century, with the rebuilding work possibly completed in 1565.

There are documentary references to the existence of a Temple in Almendra around 1320.

However, with the passage of centuries, this church has undergone changes such as the structure of the building, namely the interior, with the construction of side chapels.

Mannerist temple, with a longitudinal plan, it comprises three rectangular naves and a quadrangular chancel, the latter with external buttresses and a platband topped with cannon gargoyles forming a kind of turret.

The main façade, with sober lines and erudite taste, is torn in the center by a round portal framed in alfiz with pilasters and topped by a triangular pediment with a medallion in the center, where the date of 1565 was engraved. This set is flanked by two buttresses and surmounted by an oculus. On the right side of the façade, the bell tower was built.

On the side facades, two round portals were opened that allow access to the side aisles, of the same structure, framed in alfiz, flanked by colonnades and topped by a pediment.

Inside, the naves are divided into four spans marked by round arches resting on columns, with the central nave covered by a wooden vault and the sides by a cross vault.

It has a carved pulpit and a presbytery with a wooden web. The perfect back triumphal arch opens onto the chancel, whose space is covered by a starry vault. At the back, an altarpiece was built in gilded and polychrome carving, in the Rococo style.
