Sports Illustrated Launches Ticketing Platform on Polygon

SI Tickets, Sports Illustrated's ticketing marketplace, has created "Box Office" on Polygon in collaboration with Ethereum software startup ConsenSys.

According to the company's announcement on Tuesday, it will be the world's first complete NFT ticket solution, allowing event owners, organisers, and promoters to use Box Office to integrate additional engagement opportunities into tickets, such as highlights, collectables, and offers, via a feature called "Super Ticket."

Arbitrum DAO To Get 3,350 ETH

Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer-2 blockchain, stated on Twitter on May 9 that it will transfer almost $6.2 million in Ether ETH to its decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO).

The tweet explains that the surplus comprises two components—surplus from the L1 fee at ~582 ETH and surplus from the L2 fee at ~1308 ETH tokens.

The protocol will provide a mechanism for revenue distribution that will be activated regularly by a smart contract in the future.

Aave V3 Live On Metis

Layer 2 scaling solution Metis announced on Twitter that decentralised lending and borrowing provider Aave V3 is now available on its network.

By integrating the Aave V3 protocol for Metis markets, DeFi users can take advantage of the combined benefits of Metis’ network speed and low transaction cost and the Aave Protocol’s industry-leading features.

ZkSync Explains “High” Gas Fees

High transaction costs have affected Bitcoin, Ethereum, and recently zkSync. But the reality is quite different.

Layer 2 rollup zkSync addressed these concerns with a tweet thread posted on Sunday.

According to them, although the gas estimate shown at the time of the transaction can be high,

the actual cost will only be a fraction of it as the protocol reimburses the remaining amount to the user.

Aztec Starts RFP For Decentralised Sequencer Selection

Privacy-enabled zkRollup Aztec recently sought its community's help to develop proposals on decentralising its sequencers.

Sequencers are a vital part of any rollup, but all rollups currently depend on centralised sequencers.

With this step, Aztec has also shown its commitment to decentralised sequencers after Metis, Arbitrum, AltLayer, and Optimism.

Worldcoin’s WorldID Set to Launch On Optimism

Open, decentralised identity service provider, Worldcoin announced its plans to bring its privacy-first identity protocol, World ID, to the Optimism stack.

The protocol, which also runs on Arbitrum and Polygon, aims to provide developers with tools to prove that a real person is behind a digital action.

The company also announced the migration of its self-custodial wallet, World App, from Polygon to the Optimism mainnet.

With over 1.6 million beta sign-ups and 500,000+ monthly active World App users, the deployments on OP Mainnet will broaden access and assist Worldcoin in reaching a values-aligned community of developers and users.

Interestingly, Worldcoin was co-founded by Sam Altman, the current CEO of OpenAI.

Till next time, have a great weekend!
